The touchy-feely people who fall for DEI-related nonsense aren’t likely to join the military in the first place, so it was a bad fit.

Military recruiting is doing better because young people can’t find jobs anywhere else.

+1. Destroy the economy. Destroy higher education. Folks have to turn to jobs in the military or head down to the swamps in Florida and work as ice agents. Thanks Maga, such wonderful opportunities.

What’s wrong with working for ICE? All they are doing is enforcing our democratically-passed laws.

What's wrong with going to college and getting a good education and starting your own business and employing people in the economy instead of sucking off the government teat for your job?

Not everyone wants to go around dressed like a masked thug and harassing soccer moms and incarcerating them in a swamp in Florida to earn money. Just because you would enjoy that doesn't mean it's for most people.

Wow. Way to insult the entire federal workforce.

You are a real nut-job.

I worked as a contractor for a dozen years and saw the results of fed.gov

Basically nothing gets done and the private sector can do what the federal workforce is trying to do in a fraction of time. It's just a bunch of gatekeepers and bureaucracies that fight each other for turf and a steady pay check. It's a constant clusterf.

Oh goody another opportunity for the rich to prep the hell out of their kids and out compete anyone without those kind of resources.

There will always be that, but test prep is available online. Most don't have access to the wealth to prep the hell out of anybody but most do have online access.

People that can be trained to do well on standardized tests could be useful hires for some jobs. There may be some jobs that require other skills.

True - but I'm thinking people should have to submit a TOEFL test if they're not a native speaker and maybe the reading portion of the SAT/ACT for native speakers just to assess basic reading comprehension.

If they're going for something like business or engineering then definitely the math portion.

Many companies require GPA and sometimes SAT scores for intern positions, why not some measure of competency for non-interns? Artists/architects need to submit portfolios.

People on the left: Are you ok with this?

I don’t understand how this resolves the hiring problem. I had top grades, coursework and test scores, but would be absolutely terrible at many jobs requiring certain soft skills.

Still not concrete examples of how your life has improved directly by pushing away brown people and females and lgbtq. Did you finally get that promotion you swear you didn’t get because of DEI? Is your child no longer gay? Is your business booming now that migrants aren’t working for you? Were your cats being eaten by immigrants and the new ones you adopted are alive and well? Was your teen being medically operated on at their high school to change their gender and now that medical procedure has stopped at school? Still looking for real examples of how your life has directly improved.

Who are you to tell a company who they should and should not hire? As long as they're not doing anything illegal, why don't you worry about your own company?

If American eagle thinks they can sell a lot of jeans with a Maga queen spokesperson then let them hire the blonde haired blue-eyed Maga queen and sell as many jeans as they want. That is their business.

If you actually think that you don’t have anywhere near the knowledge of federal work that you think you do.

Look, not everyone is going to make it through the hiring process, you don’t have to be bitter about it. Mostly the contractors get treated well even if most of them don’t know their head from their rear.

In other words, you do not support federal workers and you side with t-rump. Got it.

I’m ok with test scores being required as long as you have to submit all test scores (showing how many times you took it) and also indicate what testing prep services you used.

I’m ok with test scores being considered, but would also not want colleges to be required to admit only the top test scorers. There are many other skills and qualities they might want reflected in their student bodies that aren’t measured on the SAT.

I agree with your first paragraph but the second is what got us here.

I want real life examples, not hypotheticals like bathrooms in some other county or school system that has nothing to do with you. Real examples of how you (or your white DH) have gotten ahead in your career, your kid has excelled in sports, etc. now that others can be decremented against again.
They didn't enable discrimination, they stopped it.

Waaah waaah oh the poor oppressed white males!!! Oh noes!!

MAGA didn't stop discrimination against anyone. White males were never being discriminated against. Just another fabricated grievance.

Not MAGA, but I love it because when I get my next promotion people will know it’s because I earned it and not because of my skin color.

+1. If that's the poster's concern, we can be sure he would never be hired by Trump for anything. No big government jobs for him, no matter how wonderful, experienced, and accomplished he may be.
