Well for one thing, it helped take power from the DNC. So that's a win-win right there.

I'm a Democrat but I'm glad DEI is gone because at its worst, it requires discrimination and elevates lesser qualified people as a means of retribution against those deemed too far ahead. And at best, it is little more than performative virtue signaling. It never helped anyone except a handful of "the most marginalized" and progressives who loved to wield it as a cudgel against normalcy.

This is false, has always been false. Lesser-qualified people were never elevated over superiorly qualified individuals strictly on the basis of race or gender etc. What DEI did is it took EQUALLY qualified people and then compared the applicants to the demographics and if one of the equally qualified applicants was from an underrepresented demographic, gave them more of a shot at the job to make the workforce actually look more like real American demographics.

That's "unqualified people got the job because of their race/gender/etc" crap is a made-up narrative from disgruntled mediocre white dudes.

Maybe for some of the people on this board it doesn’t benefit them “directly” but they like the change anyway.

It goes the other way all the time. There are plenty of dems on this board who post things like “if the dems get elected I will have to pay higher taxes, but I want them to be elected anyway.”
