But they didn't. work. |
OP explained that they did work for a while. It's makes sense to keep an emergency stash and use it if needed. |
| It takes me 90 minutes to walk 10k steps, so not impossible, but it would take a third of awake time |

I haven’t read past the reply where OP said they’re eating 700 calories a day and walking 30K steps.
For others who want hope, I’m losing at a rate of 1-1.5lbs a week without GLP-1 and I’m in perimenopause. I do walk around 20K steps a day but I also eat at least 1700 calories. Most of the time, I only eat whole unprocessed foods that I cook myself. Some times I don’t and I eat a bag of Cheetos. If it fits in my calories and it’s occasional, I don’t sweat it. I do make it a rule to get 100g of protein and well over 25mg of fiber. Those two things keeps super full. It’s been 7 weeks, and I’ve lost 10 lbs. I feel great, and what I’m doing is sustainable. No shade to folks on GLP-1s—I was just below the cutoff BMI and decided that I’d try to do it on my own first and, if it didn’t work, I’d pay out of pocket for the drugs. So far so good—it is possible to lose weight at age 50 with just good old diet and exercise! |
Forgot to write my stats for reference: 5’5”, 50 years old, SW 178, CW 168 and GW 150 (for now—would love 140). Started 7 weeks ago. |
That would take 3 hours and 45 minute for a woman. |
LOL 30k steps for a small woman is 12-15 miles. If I walk 4 miles/hour, that would be like running. So let's say you walk 3 miles/hour which is normal. So you are walking at least 4 hours, or you are a troll. |
It is possible to eat 700-800 cals a day for a while but it is very hard to maintain. There are people who do it for longevity and they are always cranky. What gives OP away is doing 30k steps for less than 4 hours LOL |
| NP. One of my kids wears a step tracker and does 20k-30k steps a day so I believe OP. |
OP here. I don’t time myself and it’s done in chunks but it’s between 3 and 4 hours. someone above said 3:45 and that seems very possible. |
|
If OP is telling the truth, it’s not sustainable in the long run.
Ask me how I know. |
|
700 calories a day with that kind of activity is starving yourself. So yes, that’s why you are losing weight. Keep doing it and see what happens-it’s not gonna be good.
I know you are happy OP because you lost so much weight but what you are doing is an eating disorder. Walking 30k steps a day burns at least double that calorie intake. |
I don't, unless OP is following your child around all day. How old is your kid? Little kids who play around all day, not sitting around watching tv or on ipads or mommy's phone while in the grocery cart or waiting in the doctor's waiting room, can easily get those steps in. Older kids could if they are very physically active/engaged in certain sports. |
it's not supposed to be "sustainable in the long run". i am not supposed to walk 30k and eat 700 kcal forever |
| Low calories and excessive exercise works, just like on The Biggest Loser. Unfortunately, the success is short lived. |
