He cheated on her all the time and when he stopped being discreet, she filed for divorce. From an blog no longer in service.

Then he tried to take a lot of money from her during the divorce. Tried to get her ranch in Montana. She now has a recording studio there where she made her last single Where Have You Been.

It wouldn't surprise me, but is this confirmed or one of those fake stories that get repeated enough people are sure it must be true? I thought the acrimonious divorce was because he saw her as his personal ATM and cash cow.

Do you know how many women live off their husbands after an especially those that divorce rich men? I don’t get why people believe it should only go one way. Women are always given the advice to take him for all you can and to max out whatever money and assets they can get - why shouldn’t men be given the same advice?

That is not the scenario, though. He was cheating her out of money for a very long time.

He has been hated and bashed since he accepted money in the divorce. The legal issues came later. I am not saying he is a great guy, I just don’t have an issue with men getting legal assets in a divorce. I also don’t think Kelly is a kind woman full of grace. She stirred the hate against him, even well after the cancer diagnosis and her FU song as about what he got in the divorce that he was legally entitled to.

I feel for the kids but I think he a Kelly we’re pretty much two people in a pod. I don’t see either of them as nice people.

I NEVER said a bad word to my kid. What's the point? He knows his Dad sucks. As he's gotten older I've had to advocate to keep him from running away from Dad's house. So I'm totally that person that absolutely hates my ex and, yet, here I am cleaning up his emotional sh*t.

No one cares. This is a thread about Brandon Blackstock, not you.

WAS is the past tense for when someone dies.

That’s her decision, though. It isn’t an obligation after a divorce.

Her children are step siblings to the children from his previous marriage, so that is another level of tie, of course.

Feels complicated. Sounds like she has handled things with grace, though.

Half siblings not step. Step = unrelated.

They are unrelated to her - ergo, step children.

No she isn’t. They were divorced before the grandchild was born.

google says: Yes, Kelly Clarkson is a step-grandmother. Her stepdaughter, Savannah Blackstock, recently had a baby, making Kelly a step-grandma. Kelly has two children with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, and also considered his children from a previous marriage, Savannah and Seth, as her own.

Seth is typically a Jewish first name. Was Brandon Jewish?

It's used by more non-Jews than Jews in the English-speaking world.

Interesting. I’m not a Jew but I know around a dozen Seths and they’re all Jews.

Can someone clarify he didn’t just go after (or get?) money she made during the marriage — it was also her FUTURE career earnings too? She makes a boatload from that TV show, for example — probably more than music.

She is an unproblematic celebrity with a wholesome backstory (she got famous by winning a talent competition, not making a naughty video.) Anonymous strangers on the internet feel sad that a bad thing has happened to a person who for the most part seems good and decent. It's not that complicated or weird.

Her children’s father died. I would expect any decent parent would be supporting their own children through that. I don’t get how she is a saint or dealing with this with grace and love or being ascribed all these wonderful words. She hated the man and made angry name calling songs about him. She wanted her kids and the public to hate him for taking alimony, child support, and a house that he was legally entitled to as many believe those are only for women and men are wrong to ever accept them. She wrote song lyrics saying that. I don’t see any grace at all.

She left her hit talk show and canceled concert dates to take care of him and their kids. She never explained why, probably because Brandon asked her not to talk about it. And the public was pretty irritated at her and directorate she was having a breakdown and/or using drugs. But really she was just trying to help and honor a dying man's wishes

How do you know this? That she was taking care of him and trying to help and honour his wishes? Where did you get that information from?

It's obvious. In fact she kept silent while she took unusual/unexplained breaks from her show and she canceled an existing Las Vegas residency. A lot of people were guessing what was up with her. Not a single person guessed that the father of her children was dying. Had she said that, she'd have gotten a lot of understanding and sympathy.

Oh so you made it up. Thought so. Not disclosing an ex husband you hates medical condition doesn’t mean you helped care for him or honoured his wishes. Maybe they hadn’t even told her about it until the end. We don’t know any facts but making them up means nothing.

Clearly she had no warm feelings for him but I don’t think she hated him, at least not at this point in her life. I suspect he knew the end was near and he wanted to see his kids. Depending on how weak he looked or strength, she felt she need to be there for her kids. They probably didn’t even tell the kids until a few months ago.

She was singing F U about him a year after his diagnosis so I am pretty sure the hate was still there.

Her songs weren’t F U. But he made not have told her until recently, maybe when he/they told the kids. Obviously he didn’t want anyone to know until the near end.

Her song was actually FU. The lyrics she sang were F (full word) you and your dad and the fact that you took half, I took my broken heart and turned that SH into art. FU and your view from the valley I bought you, take your broke azz heart, you can all F off.

He bought a small ranch and I guess she felt it was with her alimony money. She sang this in aug 2023. Many recordings of it on YouTube. There were other versus too.

Wasn’t his dad the same sort of schemer living off wealthy ex wives or some such too?

And Brandon got married to Kelly when she was at her heaviest. And was a serial cheater through their marriage. In other words, he never loved her, he was a conniving gold digging scammer like his old man.

You made most of that up.

He acted as her agent throughout their marriage and made money from all the gigs and contracts that he booked for her. After he asked for alimony and child support (which was awarded based on state laws and the prenup), she then reported his agent activities as illegal as he wasn’t licensed as an agent in that state. She has always known he wasn’t licensed but was angry he wanted money / assets from her in the divorce and retaliated.

He was awarded a 1.3 million dollar payment as per the prenup. He was also awarded child support, and alimony until Jan 2024. He wanted the Montana ranch and fought for that but was unsuccessful. He then bought his own small ranch in Montana in 2022 after his cancer diagnosis to be near his extended family. In 2024 he was found guilty of acting as her agent without an agent license and was required to pay back the earnings he made as her agent.

Nope nope nope. You have it wrong. The divorce went public and Starstruck (Brandon's Dady's firm) sued her for breech of oral management contract in LA seeking additional commission money including future commissions claiming they made her a star. This is where Blake Shelton starts the "oh shit -- let me look at my books" and quietly gets rid of Brandon who was also his BFF.

She then filed a labor dispute in LA a few months after they tried to sue her and won that though that took years to get through and he appealed it then settled it outside of court in 2024. He had been dealing with his diagnosis for a few years by then.

Wonder if we will ever hear who he named in his will.

You made most of that up.

What’s the timeline of his first divorce and dating Kelly?

His old man wasn’t in the industry too? Doesn’t have ex wives and/or female talent he got rich off of?

Pretty sure I read those allegations here and on lipstick alley.
