Here are the conferences I heard
Old Dominion:
Arlington
VSA
VYS
PWSI
LVMS
Villarreal
Richmond Red (Kickers)
Va United
SOCA

Commonwealth
Stafford
GFR
Valor
DCSC
BRYC
Herndon
Richmond Blue (top team)
Richmond Orange (Strikers)
Va Reign

Seems like a pretty even split of teams although I expect Arlington and Richmond Blue to dominate their division.

Does Richmond have and A, B and C team or are the kids just spread “evenly”

Blue team is the “A” team the red and orange are supposed to be more equal divided geographically not talent wise.

Blue starts at U13 from what I can tell. I think Kickers and Strikers may each have U11 and U12 teams, called Red and Orange, and U11 and U12.

Given the new divisions does that mean a team like Vienna would make a trip to Richmond and a trip to either VA United or SOCA?

I wonder if this is why Herndon pulled their U11 and U12 teams. Why travel that far for one game at that age? Makes no sense why they didn’t keep north and south separate, unless there just aren’t enough teams in the north anymore.

When you go to Schedules or Standings in the ENCL App, it shows 10 in Commonwealth and 9 in Old Dominion, but if you click through there is no detail beyond there so no way to see which teams are in which sub-conference.

With GA-Aspire likely going to be awful travel for the level, ECNL had the chance to keep RL as-is and be a much better 2nd level platform. Instead they make it some kind of death match to see who can make 2nd tier teams travel the most/furthest. It’s like they are doing their best to drive kids and families out of the sport.

This is VPSL not ECNL. ECNL outsourced the management of the VA ECRL leagues to VPSL. A Its run so different and so much worse than the rest of ECRL. don't even follow all the ECNL rules like no re-substitution within a half.

I actually think it is a good thing that they don't follow the no re-substitution within a half rule. All that rule does is make it harder for the bench to get playing time. I'm glad the ECRL teams have more flexibility to get players into the game.

But I agree that the new divisions are awful and just create a bunch of unnecessary travel.

I think no substitutions in the half for league games is silly, particularly for the younger teams. There are plenty of teams in NOVA for RL to have kept those teams at home, but the south (which is literally the whole state south of Stafford) does not have enough teams left.
That being said, all of these leagues that are trying to be more "elite" than another league (GA, GA Aspire, ECNL and ECRL, MLS Next and MLS NextII) are vying to see who can send their families the farthest, and like it or not people are going to keep doing it so they can say their kid is on whatever alphabet soup team. Is it better for development? Surely not. Is it nice to play someone outside of NOVA sometimes? Of course. We could easily field appropriate levels of competition for everyone in this area if the clubs would just come together and join a league with promotion and relegation where the top teams faced each other. The weaker teams would not get smoked and have to drive six hours round trip for that pleasure, too. There really was nothing wrong with the old model, but there was money to be made and everyone wants to claim they are best when in the end the coaches and kids are the same people they would be if the old way had not changed.

Richmond Blue is, as well as Richmond Orange but Orange is just U11 and U12. Richmond Blue seems to start at U13, and there are Red and Orange for U11 and U12. Herndon removed their U11 and U12 teams so maybe that is why Orange as a standalone group is in there?
That still does not explain the fact that this does not look balanced as far as the number of games.

Richmond shows Red, Orange and Blue RL teams at all ages for girls side.
Is one color higher level than other like Blue>Red>Orange?

Blue is the highest then Orange and Red are “equal”. Orange in general will be kids from Strikers and Red will be kids from Kickers.
