Tofino, out on the far coast of Vancouver Island in Canada.

It's small. There are lodges and some rental places, but it has a very remote vibe. The crashing waves are omnipresent, day and night. During storm season, it is even more thunderous. You can lose yourself in the primalness of it.

Tidal pools, orca, giant trees. Wildness.

I love remote places. Places that feel like you are the end of the world. More of those please!!

I love Harrogate in England. Small “spa” town with a ton of history. You can go to the spa there and feel the history. The Romanovs used to go there to “take the waters” and there is a small historic museum with no visitors and a collection of Faberge eggs. I love those uncrowded places that you feel like you are discovering yourself.

Punta Duarte, Panama. It’s the southern tip of Panama, south of Santiago. We drove from Panama City and felt like we were at the end of the world. We stumbled across sea turtles hatching and trying to make their way to the ocean, which was breathtaking and heartbreaking.

It's a thread about something "amazing" that stands out in the world. Some posters are likely writing about once-in-a-lifetime trips, whereas others may go more frequently, but nobody seems to be specifying.

Are you unable to read about globally amazing places without either expecting them to be cheap and easy to access, or without jealousy? Then the title of the thread should have been enough.

I grew up poor and live very frugally myself, but I've been to a couple of these places. I can also read well enough to avoid the thread, if I don't like it.

I could dazzle most people, including most on this thread, with a list of the "amazing" places I have visited all over the world, but I'm not that pretentious.

Then maybe this thread isn’t for you?

And probably my most controversial choice: Cleveland: there is just a heart to Cleveland and surprising vibrancy.

+1 to Cleveland. It's hard to explain to people who haven't been there but it's one of my favorite cities to visit.
