You need to work on your reading comprehension. |
Yes, we will take attendance because we are legally liable. |
Then what's your beef with teachers having 2 unpaid months off? |
They should have used 2 of the 3 designated makeup days and ended on June 13. Yes Maryland school day requirements are brutal like a bunch of the northeast states but there was still a way out of extending into June 16/17 and MCPS didn't utilize it!
Next year stands to have issues both in December and June due to how all the holidays fall and if there are 3+ snow or other emergency cancelations it will get really bad! |
I'm in a neighboring county- what a terrible calendar choice! I got phone calls last week ensuring that my kids would be in school this week. My kids missed 6 days already this year. I was actually impressed that they hadn't been sick as much this year! The person who called wasn't amused though. |
No idea. |
They all laughed when I played this video.. Teachers https://www.youtube.com/shorts/muVDRRizmyg KIDS with behavior issues "I AM GONNA COME" |
We have teachers still giving out new assignments as they didn’t do the right number early on. |
Mcps employee here. Yes I will send my children to school. I think adding more days on at the end of the year was a bs decision but if I'm required to go to work then so are you. |
Also I really do hope they take attendance so that maybe mcps can look at the low attendance numbers and make a data driven decision about adding more days on to the end of the year |
The issue is the failure to plan for snow days and the refusal to go virtual. We should have five snow days minimum. |
I hope you aren't an English teacher. |
Churchill's principal has told students and parents explicitly not to come. The only students who are allowed to come on Tuesday are those who have fallen behind on their work and/or have meetings scheduled with teachers. (Monday was already a day reserved for 8th graders to orient to Churchill, so that was already scheduled as a day off for HS students.) |
Good old parents trying to manipulate the system. It's important to teach your kids how to act like law abiding citizens. If not you get what we we now a days which is lawlessness. |
