High school students crash near the Pentagon

No teenager should be driving a performance car like that. The parents are crazy.

I known of so many teens who have died throughout my lifetime because they had a BMW or a Mustang etc...

It’s almost like being a rich, 16 year old boy with a car that’s marketed to be a “racing machine” is a bad combination, isn’t it?

Those were girls, driving too fast.

Kids can crash in any car. A BMW would hopefully have more safety features.

It was a BMW that destroyed the family at Pyle a few years ago.

Parents giving high performance vehicles to inexperienced teenagers are profoundly reckless and I hope every single one of them are sued into oblivion for those accidents.

I absolutely agree if the parents were negligent they should be sued but it makes no sense to blame it on “a bmw.” Kids drive way too fast and kill themselves and others in all types of cars. (-a mom who drives an old Camry)

Driving an old Camry isn't great either as it doesn't have all the safety features. You can easily make a wrong move and kill someone.

Well apparently the BMW safety features didn’t prevent it from reaching 100+ mph and then crashing into another car.

So please explain how the BMW was any safer in this situation than a 2003 Camry?

I’ll wait.

Toyotas can go 100mph too. It’s not the car or the privilege. It’s the driver. Lots of idiot teens drive fast. Rich and poor.

I own a 540i and a Avalon (which is sorta like a Camry) and the BMW makes the Avalon look like it’s standing still.

Point is it can still go 100

We owned a mustang for 25 years. It was the most solid car. Friend owned one same year and he crashed and amazingly walked away. Someone plowed into ours parked, flipped their toyota and ours was totaled but if we were in it we would have been ok. I'd let my kid drive it if we still had it.

Have you really not noticed that 95% of these accidents involve a BMW?

Perhaps BMWs don't fare well in crashes.

The problem is that BMWs drive too fast too easily and drivers do not realize that they are out of control.

Are these self-driving cars?

Because otherwise, they are driven too fast by a driver. In this case a teen driver, in a car they had no business being in.

My teen drives my BMW SUV. But he’s not an idiot and and drive carefully. It’s the driver not the car to blame.

The SUV is a tank and not a race car.

You can still go fast in an SUV.

Doesn’t stop them from trying to drive it like a race car though, does it?

No.

Look, I think it’s stupid to give teenagers a BMW and I see the pattern of these spoiled rich boys and fatal accidents, but if you’ve ever driven a BMW SUV, you will understand it actually handles like crap. It’s miserable to drive and is a deterrent. I really don’t like ours at all. My teenagers would never drive it simply because it’s SO difficult to maneuver and stopping it at even 40 mph is like stopping a truck.

Lol. Guns don’t kill people, people do!

I actually think people are even dumber giving kids SUVs given that they flip at the slightest breeze.

I prefer an SUV as you can see the road better.

A 2003 Camry would have the same outcome. Be real.

Ever consider that those are the cars the parents own and they are not buying them for the kids but borrowing the parents. You sound horrible. I prefer an SUV as it handles much better than a car and better in rain and snow.

Replace your car, its dangerous.

Then there was another Burke/FFX pkwy accident. I’m thinking of the one years ago where an entire family was killed except one child.

Terrible drivers. Put down your phone, slow down, and pay attention to DRIVING.

Stop being intentionally obtuse. You know damn well what kinds of kids drive BMWs. Not kids that take safety and rules seriously.

These children are dead.

You all are insanely disrespectful. 2 kids died and all y’all seem to talk about is the fact the driver has a BMW. Maybe take some time out of your days to pay respect? You all are insensitive.
Anonymous
Many of yall are parents, and obviously show no remorse when it comes to other peoples kids, these were my friends and they are not alive anymore, I'll never get to see them ever again. Imagine that.
