Why are so many convinced that authoritarianism is "freedom"?

Unvaccinated soldiers pose a risk to the readiness of the unit. No vaccine: Not mission ready, not mission capable, not deployable. Period.

Get the damn vaccine.

Or, better yet, if you're so prone to weak-brained conspiracy theory BS and propaganda, you are also a risk to the mission. If you actually believe all the disinfo claiming things like "the vaccines are more dangerous than COVID" then god knows what other stupid shit you believe and you probably have no business serving because you are a weak link who could undermine the unit.

According to these people, being too much of a wimp to get a vaccine makes one a "patriot."

It takes a lot more guts to stand up to authoritarian governments and refuse to turn your body over for the “public good” than roll over like a sheep.

Okay if you can spot grifters with BLM, can you spot grifters when it’s Trump and Musk and the current Administration?

It’s embarrassing for maga. All of that fake tough talk, punisher stickers on the cars, these color don’t run, the meal team six militia comedy about fighting against the government?

Donnie came along and said that he’s going to violate the constitution, and he’s going to ignore your rights, and he’s going to send gestapo INTO your house without a warrant for some made up immigration reasons, and they all bent over and said, SPANK ME HARDER DADDY TRUMP.

I am embarrassed FOR them.

30% of people have an authoritarian personality. They like it. We cannot reach them. They are the people who would enthusiastically work the gas chambers because someone told them it was the right thing to do.

The good news is that he’s at about a 37% approval rate, so we only have to reach about 7% to have the rest of the nation opposed to him.

Why are so many convinced that their authoritarian policies of firing scientists, targeting universities, banning critical race theory, deporting people without any due process, arresting judges etc. are about "freedom"?

Also when was the country actually free and when did cease to be free, in their view?

I remember being told we couldn’t be in public spaces unless we gave into authoritarian control and took a shot that didn’t stop infection or transmission of a disease.

You mean that type of “freedom”?

You remember wrong.

This was the trigger for a number of voters, though. I had to get the vaccine to keep my federal job. Others were fired. Voters can have legitimate grievances against any administration policies. (Not a fan of Mr. Trump and many of the policies of his administration.)

Firing people for refusing to take an experimental “emergency-authorization” vaccine is freedom to you, OP?
