Ma’am, you are a weirdo. |
This is what I had with dinner every night as a kid but now I can’t drink milk like that! I’ve gotten more lactose intolerant-ish as I’ve gotten older. My kids do though. |
I am the allergy pp above, yes, I know it is an allergy. I have so many of them though, to dairy, like not lactose, but dairy allergy, and I like to pretend I am just "sensitive!" People always think I am lying if I actually bring up how many allergies I have. As a child I would break out in hives if I touched a flower. I was treated with immunoglobulin shots several times, until that was not a thing any more. |
I get a prickly feeling in my tongue when I eat pineapple or kiwi. Pretty sure i was an adult before someone suggested to me that it’s an allergy. It really hadn’t occurred to me prior to that. My parents and siblings all have the same thing so I guess it didn’t seem unusual. |
Please do and report back! And don’t be stingy with the cocoa powder. |
This happens when I eat pineapple but I thought it was an acid thing. I also get if I have too much acid in one day. Tomatoes and vinegar and pineapple… |
Are you from the Midwest? I’m your exact opposite- I prefer one food at a time. |
My 82-year-old uncle drinks a big glass of whole milk at every dinner! I love milk and would probably do the same if it were not for the calories/fat... I drink about 16-24 oz of liquid at dinner and prefer to save my calories for dessert afterwards.

The tuna salad at Santini's is to die for. I even like just the scoop on lettuce. I dream about it! |

It usually is the bromelain in pineapple |
| Just realized that tomorrow's breakfast probably isn't normal: I'll be having leftover baked ziti and cantaloup. |
| I don't like to use salad forks. |
Same. Sometimes when I make something really homey like my mom would have made (think meatloaf or cottage pie) I drink it with some milk. It just fits. |
I drink a big glass of fat free lactose free milk every day. I didn’t think it was something to be ashamed about! Getting calcium from the original source is much better for your bones than taking supplements. |
