With TikTok down today, I predict that our teens will be happier and healthier today. Let's share our observations.

It’s already on its way back up. Your weird gloat was premature.

Same. I don’t let my teens drive either, it’s too dangerous. They are also still breastfeeding twice a day, for the antibodies.

Teens can’t drive without hours of lessons, instructions, safety discussions, and a test. There are also restrictions on driving, such as speed limits, you must wear your seatbelt, etc. What preparation did your teen go through before you handed them a phone so you could disengage and be free of parenting, and what restrictions did you put on screens? (Oh wait, you didn’t; you want your kids out of your face as much as possible.)

How old are your teens? What are their academic, extra curricular and social accomplishments? I will put mine up against yours all day long. They are phenomenal people.

I don’t think you want to do that, but thanks. How many languages do yours speak fluently, again? Mine were never on a platform that led to suicide, murder, addictions, kidnapping, drug use, dying from stupid pranks…

I predict her room will be cleaner and more homework will get done!! lol but maybe not if she plays phone games instead….she has insta and was never that into it.

It never caused depression for her - was mostly just a time waster and distraction.

I live on the west coast - my kids slept through the great tik tok shut down of 25.

My teen spends less time on social media than I spent watching soaps at her age. I’m a functional member of society.

I don’t remember the storylines of the soaps being tailored specifically to the specific proclivities and anxieties of each individual viewer. I don’t remember watching them on a handheld device everywhere I went—at school, at work, in bed at night. I don’t remember people commenting on the soaps, saying really terrible things to each other. I don’t remember the soaps being my main source of news in the world.

I mean soap operas were no doubt a dumb waste of time, but there’s really no comparison otherwise.

Get back to us in 5 years. It’s not exactly a flex that your 11 year old isn’t on TikTok.

Yep, none of our kids were on TikTok at age 11!

Oh thank God it’s coming back on, so you people don’t have to talk to your kids, interact with them, raise them, or make an effort to help them navigate life at this complex stage.

Could you be any more dull? Don’t answer. We already know.

I don't why parents are so quick to let kids on social media anyway. Them, they're so quick to point out all the harm it does.

Same. They are laughing at their peer's reactions to the staged drama.
