With TikTok down today, I predict that our teens will be happier and healthier today. Let's share our observations.

It was down for a hot minute. No big impact except to give tiktokers content " whoa is me"

Exactly. And most of the time it was down was overnight in the US.

Back when Twitter was still called Twitter, you were just fine with Twitter’s censorship, including censoring trump.

But suddenly, when X and FB decided to drop censorship and follow freedom of expression, you all threw a childish tantrum.

In an executive order, President Trump says TikTok allows "China to track the locations of Federal employees and contractors, build dossiers of personal information for blackmail, and conduct corporate espionage."

Jan 18, 2025: After years of lengthy court battles, President Donald Trump's bipartisan plan to ban TikTok comes to fruition, and TikTok goes offline.

Jan 19, 2025: TikTok comes back online, thanking Donald Trump for saving them.

No one I've talked to remembered this at all and I was wondering if I got stuck in a glitch in the matrix.

I remembered this. The tik tok law is a law passed by congress too. I am not comfortable with the fact that it can be delayed with an executive order. No one seemed to remember it was trump that wanted to ban tik tok. All boden did was sign the bill and his doj defended it because they agreed.

Not as shocking as how many parents of 12 year olds comment here thinking they know everything.

Yeah, really. Anyone who writes “let’s their kid use…” you know that parent has kid in middle school or younger.

Parents who let their kids do social media, excessive screen time are the ones who will be on forums like this complaining later.
