Is Trump an atheist?

I doubt he considers himself an atheist, but the man is no Christian.

Trump may not consider himself an atheist. but he IS one. He doesn't believe in God. That's all it takes to be an atheist.

What do you think?

definitely -- he is both - a narcissist and an atheist. What a combination! As I recall someone saying - Trump thinks he IS God.

Well, who else is a Christian any more? I don't see many living a life Jesus would approve of. As far as Trump goes, in my opinion from what we know about him, he is unlikely to be a fan or follower of much of Jesus's life philosophy. It seems he is Christian because he was born and raised as one and it plays well culturally and politically in a country where majority is Christian.

However, religion is between a person and their God so no real way of knowing and not for other people to decide.

This makes more sense. He seems like the type who doesn't think anything about it one way or the other, but is callous enough to use people's religion against them for his own gain.

It doesn't matter if he likes Jesus or Jesus likes him as Jesus's almighty dad surely likes him and blessed him with silver spoon since birth, "showered" with money, looks, success, pretty women, kids, fame, power, health, luxury, property, presidency and whatnot.

He is a lucky dad whose kids would go to any lengths to gain his acceptance.

Christianity is a careful dance between realizing that you can't earn God's favor (so you don't have to be good enough) and yet if you are saved solely by the grace of God you WILL over time be changed. For some people that change is obvious and dramatic and for others it's painfully, soul-wrenchingly slow. Christians are sinners too.

I don't think he has ever been thoughtful enough to give AF if god exists.

The Bible is not what makes a person Christian.

The religion isn't Markianity or Lukeism.

True but Jesus said we will know a tree by its fruits and the Trump Tree is rotten to the core.

Over his entire life, Trump has displayed himself to be Boastful, lying, cheating in business, lying in office, cheating on wives, assaulting multiple women without remorse, and exploiting religion for non religious purposes that benefit him. Trump has cynically exploited illegal immigration to win the election while getting his MAGA goons in the house to block comprehensive immigration reform bill that was written by a conservative. He has used public office as a platform to plunder for his own businesses and get revenge on anyone who criticizes him or tried to hold him accountable for his many crimes that include inciting a violent insurrection, being derelict with national security documents, tax evasion, and sexual assaults. He is now threatening to jail his critics and the bipartisan Congressional Jan 6 Committee.

Further, Christians are called upon to be good stewards of God’s creation but Trump denies the science of climate change and wants to remove existing environmental protections and sell of national parks to the highest bigger.

So while I agree that being an expert in the gospels does not make one a Christian, there is other overwhelming evidence that Trump is not a practicing Christian.

Others can't decide - but they can speculate.

PS - I was born and raised a Christian too, but am not one anymore.
