Do any of your high stats kids actually want to go? I’m reading these with insane jealousy. My 3.9W, 1340 kid would LOVE to go and it feels like a reach.

At least at my kids' school, I would think your kid stands a great chance assuming the UW is close to a 3.7 and you aren't gunning for Engineering or Business.

Counselor said to apply undecided, with scores. According to scattergram, kids in their range got in but with an alternate campus last year. DC wouldn’t do that

My DS got in for engineering OOS but isn’t
going to go. High stats. It was his safety.

I said 1320 above. It’s definitely a top contender right now.

Your kid has a good chance, don’t consider it closed off by any means.

What state are you in, and what are they thinking about studying? What are the other options?

There are so many great choices, and a motivated kid can have an awesome experience anywhere.

Submitted day before deadline - Halloween I guess?

Heard the following Thursday, so less than a week.

Can't afford to attend without merit or need based grants, so may be a moot point. Hoping College Park comes through with an acceptance. Wish College Park would do rolling so we didn't feel compelled to take up spots at other schools. Oh well.

It’s university park and they usually will let you know at time of acceptance. Many of the branches will be closing or consolidating, sending you Univ Park

University Park, Pennsylvania is the main campus of Penn State, but the PP was referring to College Park, Maryland, where the main campus of the University of Maryland is located. The PP is wishing that the University of Maryland would do rolling admissions like Penn State does.

And University Park is a neighborhood adjacent to UMD but UMD writes College Park, not University Park.
