Traveling internationally is going to be a challenge as an American

Trump got 74 million votes. There are 340 million Americans.

Trump won more than 50% of the vote. That's the only thing that matters. If some Americans couldn't be bothered to vote, that's on them.

No, we're fine. Just a little practical advice for traveling abroad.

Yes, there definitely are LWNJs everywhere, not just here in the U.S. I would be very, very careful what you say in front of them because they won’t hesitate to get up in your face screaming - or worse - if they even suspect you voted for Trump. Lots of mental illness among the left. Be careful.

Don't know where you're traveling. Obviously for the most part it doesn't need to be addressed. gauge the situation and if feel that it may be advantageous to share that you did not support Donald Trump go ahead and do so. it can be helpful

But wear your Maga hat around if that suits you.

Why would anyone - regardless of who they voted for - feel the need to discuss or disclose to anyone at all? Liberals are so freaking bizarre.

Lol. Go ahead and travel and don't discuss anything with any of the people that you meet. That sounds so great.

Op is sitting in an airport terminal in a foreign country, nervously. She looks around, casually. Too casually. She’s desperately trying to determine who thinks she’s a Trump voter.

All if them do. She just knows every single traveler is thinking of her, her, her! Being a Trump supporter!

Their lives, problems, families- all are meaningless. They are focused upon her, and who she voted for in the 2024 American presidential election.

Op smiles vaguely and takes off her blazer. Harris-Walz 24 is now displayed to those present, as her t-shirt is her peace offering to the terminal. They will understand now, she thinks to herself, that she is not one of those magas.

She waits expectantly for the cheers, the applause, the rousing chants of “did you just fall out of a coconut tree?”

Sadly, those positive affirmations are not to be. They are too suspicious of op. She could be a double agent. A Trump supporter pretending to be a Kamala supporter, just to glide under their radar and escape airport justice.

Crestfallen, op stares at her phone, and types dc urban moms (and dads!) into her browser.

She selects post new thread and begins:

Is Melanie really Trump’s handler? as the title, and posts a short summary of her thoughts about Trump’s marriage. It’s ok, she thinks to herself. It’s really gonna be ok.

Marry me!

I love this so much. Some (most) of the people posting the past two weeks need inpatient help immediately.

Your hatred for Trump is killing you and everything around you. You have NOTHING good in your life to focus on instead?? Ahhh, let me guess - Trump will take ALL of that away. Its hopeless....

True, the hysteria is a little over the top but then again we just elected someone that is as elderly and unfit as the current bum in office and he also failed miserably when he had the job previously. There is definitely reason for Americans to feel shame. The rest of the world already knows American voters have lost their minds since 2016. I haven't been treated any differently while traveling abroad since 2016.

I love the Chinese, Russian, and Iranian people that I have had the pleasure of knowing in my lifetime. I'm not a fan of the awful leadership in those countries. Perhaps the good people of the world can distinguish between the good American people and our awful government under rule of two dysfunctional political parties.

I love how OP is so concerned for their safety then does literally the only thing that would identify them as an American in public

I'm currently in Australia and no issues. 95% of people have no idea where I'm from because I don't walk around in a costume that identifies me as American. The other 5% I talk with are far more interested in me as a person and not some personification of America. The only person who mentioned Trump to me was another American.

i mean yes, seriously.

i’m in southeastern europe right now for work and in talking to a local, she said while europe is concerned about the future of NATO, most people here wanted Trump to win.

My coworkers in England and Germany will sometimes bring it up. I just mention Brexit and AfD. They get pretty quiet.

Lol.

OP, if you are for real, not sure at the moment. I think you'll be just fine.

So start a thread about them. This thread is about traveling abroad.

That’s the point. Literally everyone that has actually been abroad is wondering wtf OP is talking about.

This thread just confirms that most of the resident DCUM MAGAs don't travel/don't have any friends abroad/if they do travel, they don't speak the language and don't hear what's being said about them behind their backs.

Blissful ignorance has always been their calling card.

Right?? My sibling married into a Japanese family and when we were there they were guessing where any foreigners were from. The markers for being American were being fat and/or wearing athleisure. So if you are slim and dress a little bit formally you won't even look American anyway.

This is the funniest, most spot on post I’ve ever read. SO GOOD!

I’ve been to over 100 countries and think op sounds ridiculous. Yes people ask about Trump, and no one has ever - not even once - made me feel unsafe for being American… and I’ve travelled to Afghanistan, Iraq, China, Iran, Russia etc. find something else to complain about, op.

You can establish that you are against trump to just set things straight. It is like Brazilians saying they are against Bolsonaro because they want you to know where they stand.

Where are these overseas places to which you’re traveling weekly? It takes longer to just fly in and out and acclimate.

Where ever they are, chances are they are not trump fans.
