Yes, and Yang and Rivera-Oven are pretty new and still getting up to speed too. Only Silvestre and Wolff will have been there more than 2 years.

Who's "we"? Voters preferred Zimmerman by a 12 point margin.

And those voters, along with everyone else, are going to have to live with the consequences of that. Hopefully people will watch the activities of the board to try to keep her in check. But that's hard when MCEA owns the entire board at this point.

If you want non-MCEA endorsees to be elected in two years, you should start looking for better candidates now.

Their activities during the election are the most recent examples. The most blantant is probably when they were organizing an illegal strike in response to reopening plans.

The federal government doesn't do much for K-12 education. They might try to encourage vouchers, but they can't really force it. And vouchers wouldn't be so bad. It would be good for MCPS to have to deal with a little competition. Vouchers would probably be a pretty effective tool for preventing MCPS from adopting a bunch of early release days. And would similarly stop the unions from pushing for changes to state law to allow 4 day school weeks.
