Trump tariffs: ruin U.S. economy until 2040

Anonymous
Trump has been telling us for a while that's the plan. Musk confirmed it. They're crashing the economy. Businesses are just going to raise prices, they're not going to invest in manufacturing.

Not as terrifying as going off the cliff with DEI hiring all around you.

Much more so. But thanks for your entry into the stupid post of the week contest. We'll have final results by the end of the week.

What has Trump done to people to make them believe his will solve any problems, including the economy. All the evidence to refute his claims is available.

Why are people so dim?

Trump is the classic huckster and con man, selling the people snake oil that he promises will cure all ills. And the fools are lining right up for it.

Interesting paper here that runs the numbers.

It’s not good.

Be interested for a Trump voter to provide detail on how the Trump policy will improve our economy.

“We find that these steps would result in lower US national income, lower employment, and higher inflation than otherwise. In some cases, economic conditions recover over time, but in others the damage continues through 2040.

And despite Trump’s “America first” rhetoric, these policies would harm the US economy more than any other in the world, particularly trade-exposed sectors such as manufacturing and agriculture. In some cases, other countries would enjoy stronger economic growth than otherwise after receiving inflows of capital leaving the United States.”

You first. Tell us how a Harris policy would have improved our economy.

WTF? You must be trolling. There is zero threat of "DEI hiring" tanking the economy. What the adults in the room are talking about with regard to tariffs is real. What you are talking about is dippy teenage alt-right fiction.

Trumpflation! Don't be whining at us a few months after this kicks in. You broke it, YOU fix it. Maybe come up with another J6 plan, this time you idiots can storm the white house and drag your own idiot Trump out of it. As for us Dems, this is not our circus, not our monkeys anymore.

Trump is President-elect. His voters wanted him because “the economy” so how will he improve the economy?

Consuming dirty energy sources contributes to the climate crisis.

So why are you supporting more dirty energy in the US?

DP but a lot of what is called clean energy is actually bull$hit. Ever look up how they make those EV batteries? Did you know that EVs cause much more particulate pollution near roadways?

The new deal is nothing but a money grab. We cannot consume our way out of the climate and environmental crises. Instead, we need to simplify, consume less, and implement simple common sense approaches.

Exactly. We got into this mess by not focusing on mass public transportation more and bowing down to the car manufacturing lobbyists. A neighbor's Tesla caught fire and that thing burned for hours. The fire dept put it out and had to stay on site for like 4 hours b/c it kept flaring back up. Such a waste of resources for something touted as being "environmentally friendly"
