You had trouble following that short exchange…really? You don’t understand why she chose those words in that context?

Yeah, I’m wondering about discrepancies in jobs reports this week, too.

Just two days ago, ADP’s jobs report said privately run businesses created just 37,000 new jobs in May, far fewer than the 110,000 forecasted.

But today’s jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics said employers added 139,000 jobs in May and everything’s great? That’s a pretty huge difference. Why should we believe any numbers coming out of there?

S&P hit 6,000 today. According to the Ben Grahams in this thread we were supposed to liquidate our 401ks and put everything in gold bullion in April. What happened?

Oh, you were wrong again and freaking out for no reason, again. What are you guys right about?

DP and the Dow is still aways to go from where it was after Trump damaged it. Are you so stupid to think your asset growth is due to market growth vs just your continuing contributions? I am at an all time high but still estimated to be well below where I should be thanks to Trump effing over where I should be.

For those who claim China needs the US more than the US needs China...per the WSJ:

China is still finding homes for its exports beyond the U.S. -- "including Southeast Asia and the European Union. Overall, China’s exports rose 4.8% in dollar-denominated terms in May from a year earlier .."

And US farmers need migrant workers and trade with Canada.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/florida-farmers-now-plowing-over-130000347.html

Between the deportations and tariffs, FL farmers (and probably nationwide) are FAFO.

Oh, consumers are also going to feel it in the form of higher prices, of course.

We already are, but the media seems to be ignoring it and MAGA seems to be fine with it.

Go figure.

Updated economic forecasts. That’s growth of 1.4% in 2025 compared to 2.8% in 2024 under the “failing” Biden-Harris economy.

WSJ: “A federal appellate court on Tuesday granted the Trump administration’s request to keep the president’s far-reaching tariffs in effect for now but agreed to fast track its consideration of the case this summer.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit extended its earlier temporary pause of a trade court decision that found Trump exceeded his powers in imposing the tariffs.
The appeals court said it intends to hear arguments on July 31, which means the tariffs likely will remain in effect for at least the next two months.”

Trump just announced new 50% tariffs on household appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators.
Hope no one out there was in the middle of a remodel, or had a stove recently conk out.
