Where can I interact with Republicans "in the wild"?

I live in Takoma Park, and I have only ever lived in blue states or Europe.
The most conservative members of my family are now never-Trump/Lincoln Project type Republicans, all the rest are Democrats. I have two Republican friends here and they both hate Trump.

I'm sure I could crash a Young Republicans meetup, but I'm not looking for a strictly political setting. I want to just see how people who think way differently from me live their lives as normal people and understand why they think the way they do. I'm not religious so it's not like I'm going to sit in an evangelical church just for this purpose. And I'm not trying to do so as some weird social experiment and write a thinkpiece about it. I just want to meet people and understand them. Where would I go that is most likely to have Trump/new right/populist conservatives just existing in their own lives? Other than stereotypical things like a gun club. Maybe some kind of small town event far enough outside the DC suburbs?

Go to the flea market in Front Royal, VA on a weekend. Talk to the folks selling Trump merch.

The most liberal family I know lives in Front Royal. They are highly involved in the community there. You seem to have a fevered imagination about where these supposed Republicans or Trump voters live.

And MAGA people want to connect and understand Democrats and Liberals? Lol. No thet just want to pick fights and insist that evertone should think like they do.

Plus, they want to take away my rights. And not feel safe

I don't see any "MAGA" people starting idiotic threads like this, do you?

I know plenty of Republicans in the city. I don’t know any MAGA republicans. They’re a particular breed of stupid.

This exists in Takoma Park too

This is true. I know a couple of guys who live in the People's Republic of Takoma Park through a local gun forum, and they're most certainly Republicans and very likely support Trump. I was a at a bar here in DC recently, and the bartender, a second-generation Salvadorian immigrant, was a Trump supporter.

Sexist

Wut?

+1
These threads are so obviously meant to pick fights. Liberals really can't stand it when people don't do as their told and have different opinions. It's maddening to them, so they act out by picking fights.

1. We know it’s not good manners to openly scream at someone who believes differently.
And
2. We are afraid of retaliation because Trump Derangement Syndrome is very real and you people are dangerous.

Wow…thought you were supposed to be tough.

I believe the term for you is….snowflake.

DP. You think getting up in people's faces and shouting at them is somehow good manners? I believe the term for you is... rude.

That’s fine…but still makes you a complete wimp and once more…a snowflake.

Just own it.

Easily 90% of republicans in DC would switch to independent if DC had open primaries.

The guy who ran against Frumin in Ward 3 said he wanted to run as an independent, but the Republican Party said they would still run someone against him even though they admitted the guy might have a remote chance of winning as an independent (with no Republican running).

I suggest going to talks in DC given by prominent conservatives. You could also try a cops and kids/police trunk or treat event (do those exist in the PRTP?) Do you have kids? Try enrolling them in LAX, Boy Scouts, civil air patrol, or sailing. Attend a country music concert. Charles Wesley Godwin, Tyler Hubbard, and Carly Pearce are all coming to Fillmore soon near you. You are in Maryland, attend a concealed carry class.

I know that you don’t want to attend church but it is probably the best path to deeper conversations.

True. I know some Republicans. I don't know any MAGA dunces. Big difference.

NoVa travel sports have tons of families that are pretty obviously R. I have a job in a conservative industry but mostly vote D myself. People assume I’m an R and so are more open about sharing their views. There are many in spring valley, Arlington (22207), McLean, and Great Falls.

They are in bars in Riverdale, Hyattsville; many small business owners, and be on the look out for the trucks.
I came here from a communist country and would have been an easy convert like the Salvadorian immigrant.
Arriving here at 18 I knew nothing about Reps vs Dems.
I've never met so many idiots in my life, but that was in mid 90s. I think they have got better at hiding their thoughts or got some morals compared to previous ones.

Maybe you know a liberal family there, great. But Front Royal is very conservative and has an active chapter of the KKK.

PP didn’t say that everyone in Front Royal is Trumpy. There are certainly many more there than inside the beltway.

I live in Loudoun and the big churches here have lots of MAGA folks and bumper stickers to match.
