Peter would be great. We sure do have a lot of talent that comes out of the DC area. |
She’s 60. Her kids are like 5 and under. Assuming she lives to 85, she won’t have as much time with them as someone who had them when they were 30 (assuming they also lived to 85). |
I don't think one's voice is "trivial" in broadcasting. He has a very scratchy voice that always sounds like laryngitis. I don't care if he keeps his job or not since I don't watch the today show. |
Same. I am 51 and my youngest child is 11. I am exhausted! |

They were going to cut her salary by 20 million. |
Check your reading comprehension skills, they were not cutting it by 20 million, it says they were going to cut her $20 million salary. Could have been by half a mill or 1 who knows. But not the whole thing! “ Hoda Kotb Decided to Exit ‘Today’ After NBC Proposed Cut to Her $20 Million Salary | Report” |
No they did not. Reading comprehension is your friend. They said she currently makes over 20 million and were going to cut her salary. They did not specify by how much what’s over. Idiot. |
I will never forgive NBC for firing Ann Curry. |
I hate that huge, fakey smile. Just like I hated Katie Couric’s huge, fakey smile. |
Ann Curry was awful. She did terrible interviews. She asked nonsensical questions that left the interviewees confused. She had much more ambition than talent. I was so glad when she left. |
Agree, and her annoying greeting “good morning good morning here’s what’s in the news this morning” |
It's hard work doing what she does. She deserves to retire. She has the money for it anyway.
|
Believe it was us weekly reporting that they lowballed her in the contract renegotiation and that probably contributed to her decision.
The today show is still a cash for NBC, but it’s not nearly as powerful as it used to be. And the writing is in the wall. Fewer people have cable and in the next 10 years even fewer will have it. I’m betting Savannah will call it a wrap in five years and today show will just turn into streaming clips. And I say this is someone who regularly watches the show and is 20 years from retirement. But there can’t be very many like me and clearly if you watch the show, it is very aimed toward an older demographic. |
It is unfortunate if this decision was forced by contract negotiations. If it was that, it's relatable to many people who have found themselves in the same situation as they aged. |
Agree. She had a beautiful voice and regal bearing but was a disaster as an interviewer. |
