Stein is not going to win. Absolutely no chance. You get to have a say if it will be trump or if it will be Harris and one will be worse for Palestinians. Much worse. Choose wisely.

+1 It's like that woman, married to an illegal immigrant, who voted for Trump for low taxes. She thought Trump would not go after people like her husband, and then oops... the husband got deported. She said she regrets not "reading the fine print". Muslim Americans should talk to this lady.

Election has consequences.

Muslim here and life long democrat. I can't bring myself to vote for Harris because of genocide. Trump might as well be worse but there is an element of unpredictability in Trump that I'm willing to take this time. I know exactly what Biden/Harris are doing.

Smart decision. make sure this country falls apart and then we won't be able to help anyone. Ever heard of putting on your oxygen mask first? We need to vote what is best for this country, first. I am sure you are not a Muslim voting for Trump nor a democrat.

seriously what percent of the vote in Michigan are they? Do you really think that their staying at home will sink Harris in Michigan?
(I guess it's possible if the vote totals for these candidates are already razor thin).

My goodness. He was already in office 4 years and the country didn't fall apart.
When Harris says "we're not going back" I keep thinking why not? The country was better off then. (Of course she won't even answer that simple direct question 'are you better off now than 4 years ago." Gee, I wonder why?

It's like people learned nothing from the first Trump administration. Muslims will be among the first targeted, like they were last time.

There are entire muslim countries that have elected a woman as the head of state.

Name them.

Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan.

Someone linked a list. I was thinking primarily of Pakistan and Bangladesh which are because of family dynasties, with a lot of military support to keep out the Islamic sharia types.

The country is way better off now than it was four years ago. If you don't think so, that's on you. Take some responsibility and pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

Didn’t fall apart? Did you miss the whole COVID thing? Do you not see the women dying in Texas? That’s all Trump. He seeded the judiciary with hacks with lifetime appointments who are dismantling the rule of law as we speak. It’s what his people worked hard for for decades and, barring any extraordinary FDR like action, will take a generation or more to correct.

And for what it’s worth, I am better now than I was 4 years ago. I’m voting Democrat because I don’t want this country to be a theocratic hellhole in 4 years.

Not voting for Harris but also not voting for Trump.

In my circle of Muslims that I know, only one person is voting Harris, two are likely voting for trump, and everyone else is voting third party or staying home.

There was a window for Harris to win back a lot of Muslim votes, but she didn’t earn them.

What was that “window”? What do you believe Harris should have done within that window to “earn” / “win back a lot of Muslim votes”?

I ask because I’m genuinely curious. This post is also both very specific —and short on details. Harris has been the nominee for less than 2 months — although I get that early voting and voting by mail are already starting up. Given these time constraints, I’d like to understand what Harris could have done — or possibly could still do— within them to meet your expectations.

The window was open after Biden dropped out.

When she scolded protesters and told them that they want Trump to win, it was not a good look.

They did not allow any pro-Palestinian speakers at the DNC.

DNC official platform was changed to add pro-Israeli talking points about Lebanon.

The uncommitted movement asked her for a meeting after the convention, she refused.

A US citizen was shot in the West Bank by the IDF in August, and the US said nothing.

Another US citizen was killed in the exact same place a couple of weeks later, and Biden called it an accident. The administration should have been more forceful about condemning it. What would have been the downside in calling the family and opening an independent US investigation? The family has said they have not received a call from Biden or Harris.

She has said a ceasefire is needed, but has not said anything else about how her administration would be different. At an interview with the NABJ last week, she was pressed by journalist Eugene Daniels about specific policy that she would implement, and she just said we need a ceasefire. That's it.

Meanwhile, the situation is spiraling out of control. There is almost no chance of ceasefire in Gaza anytime soon. Israel is talking about ordering the population in northern Gaza to leave, starving the people who remain by blocking all aid, and then doing the same thing in the south. Lebanon is on fire, with nearly 200 killed just today. The US talks about deescalation, but apparently approves of the "de-escalate through escalation" strategy of Israel.

Democrats are the best argument against themselves. I don’t know at what point you all decided that being haughty, condescending, and nasty to voters who don’t agree with you is the way to win, but it’s easily the most stupid strategy I’ve ever encountered. Meanwhile, conservatives with even the craziest views imaginable are typically able to articulate them in a civil fashion. You undercut your own point when you sound deranged and rabid in declaring that Republicans are the hateful ones. And who is really going to believe that democracy can be saved by unhinged ideologues who look three seconds away from tearing you limb to limb for disagreeing with them?

DP. It’s on me that my groceries cost 20% more? It’s on me that millions of illegal immigrants, including terrorists, have entered the country- even been flown in? It’s on me that my kid who is a teacher in a solidly blue county in a blue state can’t afford to live where he works? This is all on me even though I voted for Biden??? My bootstraps have been stretched to the limit, thank you very much.

Can you please explain how Trump will lower your grocery bill and help your kid's teacher afford to live in his county?

Good luck to you. If Trump were to win again, the few brakes that we had are gone now - according to the Republican Court, a president has total immunity! - so I’m sure you’d be happy in whatever country Trump decided you belonged in.

Dp. You are not understanding the “lesser of two evils” calculus that many of us are making.

One candidate is literally part of the administration handing out weapons, vetoing U.N. resolutions, and enabling a war that is killing our brothers and sisters. They may have good words to say, but their actions say something else.

Another candidate may be saying bad words, but is not actually participating in killing our friends and family. He is a wild card and it is a possibility that it could get worse and it is a possibility it could get better.

It’s a possibility we have to take and I think deep down a lot of people would make a similar choice.

He isnt a wild card. He has 4 years of previous administration to review. WTF.....
Also Harris isnt President, shes VP. The VP supports the P and basically has to cowtail. What Trump did on J6 was so egregious even Pence couldnt cowtail anymore. Thats literally how far most P have to go for the VP to say no because it undermines the P.
