Lobbying Bowser to call up the national guard

Anonymous
We have a ton of them. They’re all quite young and healthy. We can’t prosecute our way out of this because there’s a huge backlog. A super prison in the old FBI HQ sounds great.

That's correct! What does the national guard know about fighting crime? This is a knee jerk response.

Anyone found to have broken any law that is a felony or against lifestyle straight to super prison at any age. Like in El Salvador the crime plummets and is en par with Canada. The end.
You should move to El Salvador. That won't fly here.

Agree. Soft on crime was elected.

Now they want the Natinal Guard to bail them out. No.

I don't think you know what a literal police state is... that's part of the hyperbole that got DC to the point we are at now.

Setting up police checkpoints to stop every vehicle for proper papers leads to ID'ing of drivers and passengers and searches of vehicles. Things authorities do in police states. It's also blatantly unconstitutional. Ask Cathy Lanier.

Random checkpoints is not every car. It's a random deterrent. They do them all over the country on holidays like New Years. This is a far more pressing, dangerous situation. You really don't know what a police state is.

You are blind: my entire Ward would vote for it. Council has overplayed their hand.

Super prison can be built privately and provide a ton of jobs and be an economic multiplier. We could turn the convention center or the FBI into it since these important HQs are never coming back onto the Skid Row that is that area.

I would though fund it by abolishing the Council and the ANC, their staffs, and nonprofits of their families. Just a personal preference.

Yes, non profits seving "the local community" in DC pretty much exist to pay their admin well, and employees somewhat. And they do this by collecting gobs of government (tax) and donor dollars. And then they pay more people to write reports that embellish what they deliver, and more people to write grants to get more dollars. They are their own self perpetuating machine. Worked for one and was pretty disgusted.

She can’t do it because it’s not in her interest. She’d be missing her career goodbye

Sounds like Biden needs to then. Shall we march on the white house? Stand in freedom plaza and demand protection (the irony!)

Biden hasn't and isn't going to do anything. Maybe a change in administration (ie Trump) will save you. Oh the irony..

Sure, all the carjackers posting here will feel so dumb when they get stopped at a checkpoint.

Exactly 👍
I shudder in my random GW-student’s Canada Goose and Nikes; whatever shall I do if I can’t continue carjacking and vandalizing?! Oh my rights at the checkpoint!!! Injustice!what about all the Gucci I can carry? Out of the store without paying that is! On my ATV? That is a cultural symbol, just ask Nadeau

My aspiration for Biden is that he doesn’t expire. My aspiration for the Council is that it gets dissolved. My aspirations for Trump would be self-incriminatory to reveal

The phenomenon of those figuratively willing to die on the Anti-Trump hill will make an interesting case study one day.

Just because I think there are other harm-causing idiots, doesn’t mean Trump isn’t one of equal or greater propensity for harm
