No it isn't. There is no point in keeping patients in ER if there are no doctors and no medicine.

The problem is the lack of a crime lab and lack of prosecution, which is related to that. The NG wouldn't do anything different than the police can do. The problem is what happens then?

Well, they wouldn't be able to drive their getaway cars if there were manned checkpoints. That would be a win in and if itself.

Checkpoints? To check papers?

Sheesh. Seriously?

Checkpoints to check you are the legal driver of the car, have a license, insurance, no outstanding warrants , haven't amassed thousands in tickets. You know, the problems plaguing DC right now .

+1
Nobody wants to live like that. And it could be stopped so quickly. Arrest, prosecute, recertify crime lab YESTERDAY (what BS is that in 2024 in the United Stares?), police patrols, etc.

D.C. voters chose progressives to lead our city.

You did not know how progressives view crime before you voted??

You people are so dumb. She can't call the National Guard as Mayor. Only the President, Congress or Secretaries of the Army and Air Force can. Remember when we couldn't get the National Guard during Jan 6 b/c Trump wouldn't allow it.

They have been unwilling.

She requests the activation from the President. Are you saying a democratic president (Biden) wouldn't honor the request from a democratic Mayor (Bowser) in the city where he resides? Charming.

Yes, I am suggesting that. Plus, she doesn't have a great relationship with the Administration.

They should change the slogan on DC license plates from "Taxation Without Representation" to “DC - America’s Fallujah”

Then Biden would show his hand and presumably none of us would vote for him.

Or that you’re driving an actual vehicle and not an illegal ATV, scooter etc.
The checkpoints can use lethal force, can chase, can search, can frisk. Sign me up.
You have my vote.

It’s Fallujah now. It’s going to become America’s Falluja which is way better.

Without effective prosecution, which is not a NG operating task, and without cultural changes, would be ineffective.

How would NG have stopped the shooting of a driver in Dupont yesterday or the man outside City Center on Monday? Knee jerk feel good solutions rarely accomplish much.

NP. Is this the same uber driver as the Afghan interpreter that was murdered last year? Did they finally catch his kid killers?

NO. This was the Pakistani driver that was killed the by the two girls that basically got off Scott-free. Maybe if he had been White....

F the Constitution, I always say.

There is no F the Constitution in declaring a state of emergency. It's been done before in the US and it can be done in DC.

Well, then the general counsel of the crime lab first needs to stop stonewalling, right? They need a WHOLE new staff in that agency.

She can’t do it because it’s not in her interest. She’d be missing her career goodbye
