Anybody else disgusted with the Clinton wedding???

Just another American girl who wants to play princess. Just because Prince William is going to have a big wedding she must. And she lived in the white house and went to that fancy school.
But that does not make her royalty. No blue blood. Just a father who xxx with a naive 20 something and she got an admissions break into the ivies.

Those who like can follow it in tv for all I care.

By the way, Swedens Princess got married recently too.

Now those are real royals and blue blood

Royals are human beings with red blood like everyone else. They bleed like everyone else when you cut them. Their ancestors probably stole, bullied and dominated others so they could lord over them. Maybe they should be called blood money descendants instead of royals.

For those of you who think donating money to the Catholic Church is like paying country club dues check out the work of Catholic Charities, the organization. You'll be enlightened.

What I am disgusted by is the fact that an athlete can earn 130 million dollars and our teachers and nurses sometimes barely make more than $40,000.

This thread has become a fascinating exercise in free association.

Wow
European royalty can trace its roots over a thousand years.
There is a rumor that the Ancient Roman emperors wanted Faroes lineage in their family, so thru Cleopatra they got it and the Faroes as such did not die out. And the emperors became the nobles and thru these families the ruling class and the 'tribe' of princes that later became European royalty.

Talking about ancestors who stole. You are living on land stolen from the red man

Without that family name she would not have gotten into Sidwell, or into Stanford. Neither would Obamas daughters have been admitted

I'm often surprised by how shallow those roots can sometimes be. A lot of European aristocratic families (maybe not ruling families) are relatively recently ennobled-- recently being fewer than 1,000 or even fewer than 500 years, that is.

Yep, free association.

22:30 again. You know, I was distracted by the thousand year roots thing and failed to notice just how little pp seems to know about Cleopatra's ancestry and the waves of Germanic peoples who supplanted the Roman ruling class all over Europe. PP, no. Sorry.

Anyway, I'm a bit put off by the extravagant wedding, too. Not my biggest problem, though.

Oooh, for that matter, I'm under the impression (that I don't feel like confirming) that none of Cleopatra's progeny got very far in Rome. Weren't some murdered?

I traced my ancestors back to 1240. While not 1,000 years it's still pretty far back and as far as I can tell no one was royalty.

How did you do it? Church records?

Ancestry.com and there was a project done tracing the ancestry of German families living in what is now France. I stumbled across the project when I googled my grandfather's brother. Awesome find.

Donating to the Catholic Church is donating to their legal defense fund.
