ah

So Elon musk must be African American then

Elon Musk is not American.

He can identify as anything he pleases, thanks to the progressives

Most people in this country are against race-based admissions, even groups that supposedly benefit, and Supreme Court has ruled that it is illegal.

Most people in this country want the best doctors they can get, particularly when they are fighting for their life.

But that trope is a fantasy. If you are having a sudden ER event, you get the doctors you get at the ER and the attendings that day.

Also, just like many professions, the best doctors didn’t go to Harvard, Yale, etc medical school (though certainly some did).

We are lucky that all doctors passed the boards, completed residencies, etc.

Speak for yourself. You better believe my mom shopped for an oncologist to help her with her battle for cancer. No fantasy there.

Great, but you can’t argue with my post when you have a sudden heart attack, stroke, car accident, etc

Also, I would be shocked much emphasis was placed on the doctor’s schooling vs their current hospital, practice reputation, etc.

As if those are the only types of medical issues people have. There is plenty of time to get 2nd opinions for many other critical issues.

Hopkins undergrad in policy and economics is very, very strong. You can also do the 5-year program with SAIS (one of the best International studies program). People wrongly associate JHU only with STEM.

+1 I’m amazed by the ignorance out there.

I am amazed by your lack of reading comp skills. The post says science research is what JHU hammers home repeatedly on their tour, and that puts some people off.

So you lied to get a perceived advantage because you weren't confident of your own record and ability to make a strong case for your fit to major?

So how were your JHU grades?

I hope you're not my doctor or personal wealth advisor or not even real at all (under-bridge-dweller).

How do you think Obama got into Columbia as a transfer student ? Occidental had a guaranteed transfer policy for "certain" students. He had average grades while at Occidental. He would never had have been accepted to Columbia as a white student, despite being born to a white mom and raised by white grandparents.

We all play our cards.

Harvard and Yale are closer to 40% white. Much lower % of Blacks, Hispanics and Native Americans than Hopkins. Seems strange that people would only lie to get into Hopkins!

💯

So the same kid with one Mexican grandparent checks the Hispanic box--which is not exactly lying because people can identify however they what--applies to both Yale and Hopkins. Maybe Hopkins says yes, this kid is qualified--assuming this is the case--and Yale says that is not enough, we want more, like national awards or whatever.

^ no boxes anymore. They will actually have to commit to their lies even more in the essays

As Obama said in one of his books, he identifies as black because that’s how he experiences the world (when cabs didn’t stop for him, when he was followed around at stores, etc.). Biracial kids who “look black” aren’t spared racial discrimination because they have a white parent and grandparents. A white Italian checking off Hispanic is just being dishonest.

So many racists on this board. I wonder how many of you would publicly express these views?

My niece is 1/4 black and you better believe she put "AA" on her applications. She got accepted everywhere and lots of scholarship aid. Her white friends with the same credentials got none of that. She will do the same for grad school.

It does not matter if there are "boxes" any more. That is new.

All you have to do is say you were involved n the black/Hispanic/whatever clubs at school and the committees know that.

We as counselors teach this aggressively at our high schools.

Is it an honor system process? Or do you have to submit proof?

Native Americans are the only ethnic group in America that's required to submit proof https://www.doi.gov/tribes/esablishancestr

And their kids are getting rejected from JHU and similar elite colleges.

Good.

So, Obama "experiences the world" as a black man. I experience the world as a Puerto Rican non-binary Jew today, maybe something else tomr. You progressive have lost sight of reality.

Just put on your application whatever will get you in to the school of choice.

But Hispanic isn’t her (your?) card.
