What is the replacement? |
|
No parent I know is on TikTok. Some are on Insta, most have a FB and LinkedIn account. My teens do not have TikTok or other social media accounts, except one, who is on Discord. The only reason I have FB is because AirBnB needed to verify my identity through FB, the idiots.

I watch it but do not post and can’t imagine I ever would
Mid 30s DINK I like it for the funny videos, practical life advice , seeing how people live around the globe, and more. |
Try nothing. It’ll be good for your brain. |

+1 more person not drinking the Kool Aid. |

Here is another reason not to have TikTok:

| I can’t believe actual adults use Tik tok |
TikTok is the future. You'll all be on it eventually. Just a matter of time. |
our phones are already tracking us. I am going to watch my cooking videos and book videos without a care |
Why? |
I’m already on it. I was asking what’s the replacement because being befuddled about people “still” on TikTok implies people are somewhere else now. |
Some parents are on TikTok to monitor their childrens' accounts. |
The end, where they show the TikTok logo in a kind of swoosh along with that sound effect, really bothers me. I don't really know how to explain it - it's like nails on a chalkboard. Also, many of the videos have unnecessary sound effects that I dislike intensely. The food ones are the worst, with those horrible crunching sounds as they open packages. As for videos on other platforms, sometimes they bother me, but nothing like the level of auditory abuse I find on TikTok. TT videos have too many instances of alternating loud and soft noises that I find disturbing. I can deal with it if the video content is good, but so much of the content on TT is rubbish, so I avoid it. |
