| As we enter 2024, I wonder if I'm the only person not actively on TikTok. anyone else hesitant and holding out? Anyone actually join after holding out and have thoughts and feedback about your experience? I wonder if it is inevitable that we will all be on TikTok at some point anyway. |
| I am not, nor ever will be. My teenager isn’t either. |
Are you certain? |
| Nope, not on it, don’t care to be on it in the future. Hopefully it will be gone by the time my kids are teens! |
Me too. My teen was on it but has left. |
|
I haven’t joined. I own a business where I have some social pages. Not opening one there.
I do watch some content that trickles over to Instagram and YouTube. It has the TikTok logo down on the side so I know it came from there originally. |
| It’s far too addictive for me so I delete it quickly if I “need” to download for any reason. You’re not missing anything. |
| I have an account to look at links people send. I don’t scroll there. |
| I held out until this year. I use it for recpies mostly. |
| I have it but don’t really understand how to use it. |

I'm not on Tik Tok. I've heard so many teenagers talking about how unhealthy it is, how addictive it is. And when I hear people talk about health advice they got on tik Tok, it's always just from some pretty girl who put on glasses to Look Serious, but has zero actual credentials. Plus, I'm already on Twitter and Instagram - I feel like two wastes of time via social media are plenty.
There's no need to say it's inevitable - it doesn't have to be if you don't want it to be. I've never had video games. A friend of mine has never had tv. As an adult I've never owned a can opener. You are not "doomed" to join Tik Tok if you don't want to. |

I’m not! I have two teenage daughters who are not either, and it’s actually become a source of pride for them. My kids have plenty of friends and are normal happy social kids so it hasn’t “hurt” them (I know some kids say they’ll die if they can’t have tik tok).
As for me, zero interest so that’s been easy. |
| I haven't joined a single new platform since Facebook (I don't do insta or twitter either) and I regret even joining that but can't seem to quit. My teen DDs (15 and 13) also don't have Tik Tok or Insta. |
| I just can’t do so many different platforms. I was a late adopter of instagram because I couldn’t do fb and insta. Now I’ve mostly dropped off fb and only use insta. If I start TikTok I’ll prob have to give up insta lol. |
| There’s a meme about not being on TikTok but being on Instagram where the curated videos are. I do have a TikTok account because sometimes I see a video on IG and can never find it again. But TikTok’s search feature can find any video, it’s amazing. |
