Make them wear pink jumpsuits?

I don't think a lot of people understood the whole pink jumpsuit thing was so many of these bozos commit crime for street cred. yes, make them look as foolish as they are. Basic, but effective.

The government could do more by providing free cars for those under 18.

This is actually not a bad idea! Graduate from high school with a 3.5 or higher and you get a car, if you are at the lower economic level.

Why stop there?! Give them $100,000 in cash and a free apartment too. We're talking about human beings after all. And also gotta cover groceries. Any who doesn't deserve the occasional night out to a fancy restaurant? People need nice new clothes to feel dignified, so should definitely provide an allowance for that, too.

This car jacking stuff is absolutely disgusting. And it doesn't matter what your appearence is - physically fit types like FBI agents or NFL players compared to old me.
Today it was a blue chevy malibu - FBI vehicle operated by an agent. https://abcnews.go.com/US/fbi-special-agent-carjacked-washington-dc/story?id=105255780

By law, they are entitled to “youthful offender” status, and understandably treated differently when they slip up. Everyone makes mistakes. Youthful offender goes up to age 26 in DC.

Don’t you want to give children a second chance?

Nope not when they are engaged in violent crimes

Like I literally just don't care

Locking ppl up LT does stop them from committing crimes and provides some deterrence

How's all this light / no sentencing working out?

Jesus Christ. Listen to yourself. You want to sentence kids to long-term prison sentences. You are lacking a serious mental compass.
ANd are an example of the depths of sh--- this country is sinking to.

Violent 25 year olds are not kids

They are kids until they reach the age of 26. Before that their brains aren't fully formed. I'm sorry, but that's just basic science.

So let me get this straight just so I'm clear - Dem logic is that people do not have fully formed brains until they're 26 years old, therefore they shouldn't face the full wrath of the law when they commit crime because they make poorer choices due to yet to be fully mature brains?

Funny! Yet Dems keep demanding gender affirming care for 12 year old who think they're trans? And they want to confuse their sexuality while they have impressionable young minds? Pray tell, of people younger than 26 don't have fully developed brains and shouldn't face full consequences for crime, then why should we have gender affirming care that can permanently alter a person's health when they're 12 years old? The latter has a mature enough mind now to determine that? You can't have it both ways!

Uh, they are not carjacking because they need cars.

This. On what planet does anyone think these criminals are carjacking because they need to go somewhere? They'd doing it because they think it's "fun."

We need to have serious repercussions for these scum, as well as parents of underage criminals.

some of us are not super signaling San Francisco style progressives are basically hostages here, bound by work or other duties. I agree with you that people in this city who are complaining NOW (and voted for progressives BEFORE) should consider voting differently. It's awful.

There have always been bad parents. “Justice circles” instead of consequences is the new idiocy. I seriously don’t know what happened to people’s brains to think these were a good idea. Kids need limits and consequences. Not giving them is cruel to them and dangerous to everyone.

We know of at least three criminals this year in DC who didn’t live to reach the age of 26 because instead of being in a jail where they belong, they were set free to FAFO.

There will be many more before things change.

The criminals who shot and killed the Afghan interpreter - they're still out there, right? No arrests?

This is why I moved back when schools weren’t in-person but DCPS was spending money on an initiative to rename schools. I could tell this wouldn’t end well. Any city with that sort of approach to education will end up with major problems.
