We live nearby and unfortunately are thinking about leaving if DC's trajectory continues. This neighborhood (which isn't Petworth, it's Manor Park, just south of Takoma) is wonderful and we've always felt very safe--would be heartbreaking to leave--but the cracks are starting to show.

A lot of us make our living with our brains, if not killed, a TBI is still surely life altering.

+1

We live in Manor Park and I absolutely love our neighborhood. We know the vast majority of our neighbors and have developed some really close friendships with some of them. I thought I’d never be willing to move and try not to over dramatize crime in the city but our neighborhood seems to be having weekly serious crime events. Armed robberies, car jacking, homicides, police chases into our alley ways and park. It’s a lot.

They’re criminals.

Nothing “kiddie” about them.
