+1 The racists will never give up on their little social experiment. |
Oh, stop. The only kid who got into Stanford and Princeton at our school was Asian. |
Perhaps your single observation refute a large body of literature (e.g. https://www.nber.org/papers/w31527)? Or perhaps that asian kid had to be much better than a similar white applicant and you're denying institutional racism because of an exceptional outcome? |
^This. My kid graduated in CS from GMU in ‘22 and got a 150K paying job offer prior to graduation. |
| East Asian kids are people. |

NVCC.
Look, in these days you should recognize some things: a. Massive grade inflation means that you are screwing something up if you get a GPA lower than 3.0. b. Whatever the cause of the screw-ups -- low IQ, learning disability, laziness, ADHD, anxiety, overconfidence, poor health, whatever -- is not going to magically resolve itself by sending a kid to an expensive college. c. College degrees on the low end are typically worth the paper they're printed on, and spending a hundred thousand dollars or more to get that piece of paper is a bad idea. If you want to try college, try something easy, that works with the kind of students that don't do that well, costs relatively little money, located very close by where you can offer support. |
Did you even graduate high school with this kind of critical thinking (or lack thereof) or is this how America has become? |
+1. In-state very likely also will be the lower cost options. |
Ewwwww...highly immoral to encourage your kid to actively participate in discrimination/racism. |
But JMU has enough above 3.0 students to choose from than one below 3.0. Sorry. |
My 3.0 kid was rejected at JMU and GMU. |
| I believe a great majority of Asians don't attend ivies, equivalents, or even T50. They mostly attend state universities. I'd not be surprised if community colleges in and near a large Asian population have a high percentage of Asians. |
Try 40k. That 19k doesn’t include room & board. |
| Look at SUNY Stoney Brook. |
Community college! It’s so underrated or worse, looked down on here but it’s great option. DC can then transfer after knocking out lower level classes. Will save a ton of $$. The other option is Radford. Ton of support and affordable. |
