YATA. If you knew you had a Monday early morning flight then you should've booked a return flight on Saturday. I mean it's fine if you got there and hated it and wanted to leave, but no one owed you face saving. You should own your actions and yeah, your ILs are allowed to have feelings about this. You literally bailed a day early on a previous commitment.
