Of course he wouldn’t.

And then scotus would rule that they “can’t interfere in an election” and/or that the 22nd amendment is not part of the original constitution so it doesn’t count.

Here's the article if anyone wants to read it. The basic premise is that it's not fair that Trump could not run again in 2028. Unbelievable.

Would have preferred to have played the role of kingmaker. But no, had to go and poke the honey badger. Bad move.

Oh please he was always going to run again.

Of course he was running again. Love that "you brought this on yourselves!" idea that if we'd just ignored him, he would have ignored us. Ha ha ha. Also f everyone who thinks that this man should be free of any accountability for his MANY crimes.

Anyone who trusts Trump to abide by the Constitution is crazy.

Trump certainly has no respect for the Constitution...but there will come a time when he realizes he has more time for golf if he stops being president. Unfortunately that time has not come yet - currently the only two possibilities are the White House or prison and there is no golf in prison.

This reminds me of desperate Republicans in the Project 2025 thread trying to claim that there’s no proof that Trump is an authoritarian. Turns out there is because he doesn’t care a fig about democracy. The whole idea of democracy is anathema to him.

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday floated the idea of a third term if he wins in November.

“You know, FDR 16 years — almost 16 years — he was four terms. I don’t know, are we going to be considered three-term? Or two-term?” Trump quipped at the National Rifle Association annual meeting, speaking before a crowd of gun rights supporters.

Some in the crowd shouted in response: “Three.”

Every Democrat: the GOP will end democracy, here’s a laundry list of evidence…

Every Republican: nuh uh you’re gaslighting nobody said that!

Trump: I am a king and I will be president for life.

Every Republican: That's okay by us. As long as you keep on sticking it to the libs and saying stuff we can't say out loud.

Article II states that the President shall hold his office during the term of four years.

Given the events of January 6, 2021, do you think Donald Trump will voluntarily relinquish the presidency in January of 2029—as required by the constitution—if he wins the 2024 election?

He's already talked about a third term. There is only one way to stop trump and that is an obituary that I will toast with champagne 🍾🥂!

No. Yesterday he alluded to a third term which is a bit presumptuous consider the just he has not yet been elected to a 2nd term.
