The Republican candidate has a great opportunity to win Dranesville - there is a ton of frustration with the Ds on the BOS and SB, who have done serious damage to the Democratic brand in Dranesville. But they have to get their candidates out there. I’ll vote for Paul Bartkowski over Robyn Lady in a heartbeat as long as he isn’t a total MAGA, but there’s no way to know unless he starts to be more visible.

I am an unhappy Democrat and whenever I am like well maybe we do need to vote them out to teach them a lesson/get them to listen. I'm actually worried academics and behavioral issues. I think the answer to this concern is to get involved in the Dem endorsement process and vote for moderate Dems. Basically, vote against any current school board members and anyone endorsed by some of the far left groups that act like they own the school system.

PP here: anyone can sign up to vote in the Fairfax Dems endorsement process. Just go to the Fairfax Dems website to sign up (by May 5). They make you sign a loyalty oath but these are completely unenforceable.

If you are a moderate or independent, in many districts this will be your only chance to vote against some of these school board candidates that just care about politics rather than academics & making sure our schools provide an excellent education.
