Fairfax County Parents Association, which is the rebranded #OpenFCPS movement consisting largely of Langley High parents, posted yesterday that it had received a “disturbing video of violence” at Langley “w/kids injured while adults failed to intervene.” [They did not post the video.]
What the heck are they talking about? Should I really bother paying $3M for a house in McLean or Great Falls if the kids are going to fight like kids at any other school? |
| The cost of buying into McLean and Langley pays for keeping away poor brown kids. That's all. If kids still want to fight and do drugs, that falls on the parenting failures of their wealthy parents. |
| What were the Langley kids fighting about? Who deserved the better parking space for their BMW? |

You should make all your decisions based on what your read on twitter. |
You mean we shouldn’t take the grooming reply with a grain of salt?

Can a teacher intervene? That would be “putting your hands on a child that isn’t yours” and reviled by many. Doesn’t a police officer need to be called anyway to intervene because a teacher can’t touch a child.
If they don’t, parents would be mad. If they do- there goes their job! Which would you choose? Or maybe you wouldn’t be a teacher to get out of this… |
| There’s so much more going on - this event was a non-event. It’s weird that they are focusing on this and not the others. |
| FCPA is the worst. |
| If it's what I'm thinking of, the event did not happen on school grounds. My kid is at Langley, and she has not said anything about violence on school grounds. |
And it was a fight between a few boys against one, I think over a girl. |
+1. Of course they did not provide any details, because they have an agenda. |
Do you really think having money means kids won't fight? SMH... |
| Whoever runs their Twitter account must also work for the Daily Mail. That was the most non-newsworthy Tweet ever. Why Tweet if you are not going to post the video? (Hint: Because it was probably not disturbing, but saying it was sounds super bad.) |
[b] All true. I don't know why people believe anything on social media. At the end of the Twitter account message, someone posted something logical: '"Only trained staff are allowed to restrain students. The video was probably while those staff were getting there. Unless you post full content you are purposely being misleading. " |
There are parents from all over ffx involved in that organization |
