This makes me laugh. 30 year old VP.

30 is actually quite old for VP in finance. It is not a senior title like in industry. If you are at all competitive you should hit that by 26 or 27, and be an ED by 30.

Anyone have a breakdown of finance Levels? I am always thrown off when I see all these 30 YO VPs

It varies, but as an example:

Analyst
Associate
VP
Director / sr director
Managing director

So basically manager level if you were in consulting?

For context only around 4% of the federal workforce is GS15 - they can’t all be married to each other and posting on dcum!

Well, most of the federal workforce do not live in the DC area but many GS-14/15 positions are in this area.
Very few high GS levels outside of the DMV. Most peak at GS-12 throughout the rest of the country.

also, sales execs!

Registered nurse here. I work for federal government as a staff nurse in a specialty area and make $110K, I only have bachelor degree. Regular staff nurses don't make more than $100K anywhere really. I consider myself lucky to even make this much.

My mother is a RN and works crazy overtime.

She made $190k last year

What is the most mundane customer level issue that rises to your level?

Right but that's overtime, if she worked on her 36 hours per week it would be about 100k right?

Everyone "made" good $$ from investments last decade. Nothing special.

I work at a company and do my own consulting on the side. My salary where I work is $173k. I usually make an additional $60k-$100k doing my own consulting work on the side. It really depends on how many jobs/projects I want to take on outside of work.

Oh, I forgot to add. I'm 40 and I live in Loudoun County.

What the PP really saying is he/she works two jobs from home. Slime

Correct. I'm a nurse who lives in DC and I make $125K and consider myself well paid compared to just about every other nurse I know (here in DC and elsewhere). I have a master's degree.
Most bachelor's prepared nurses in DC make $80-90K unless they are working overtime.

I don’t break $200k as an analyst at a big bank. I make $170k.

DH is a marketing exec and makes $335k with an additional roughly $700k in stock and bonus-based compensation.

Both of us are mid-30s.
