| Pretty much any middle manager at any grocery contractor will make this - assume anyone 35+ in Gov Con with any responsibilities at all makes this or more. |
| *government not grocery |
| This is why DH wants me to leave teaching - he says he works with so many lazy do-nothings making mid to upper 100’s. |
Make sure you yell them that when you're dying on a plane and they're trying to help you |
| You say $150 in your subject so that is all GS-15s and GS-14 step 4 in the federal government. |
| not 200k, but DH and I both make just over 150k each. Fed and corporate management. When we started out 20 years ago, we both made 30k, so it's just a long time of climbing the ladder. We didn't start out making great salaries. |
| A little over $200k for me. 33 and in Consulting. Single. |
| Tenured professor in the social sciences. 210k base. Make another 50-70k per year depending on grants, honoraria, summer salary, consulting, etc. |
| Law. I’ve made over $150k since my first job out of law school. |

many in finance have never made less than that.
i made that in my 2nd year in 2012. likewise big tech or big law. I recall the heuristic for engineers at facebook to start was like $100/$100/$100 (salary, bonus, stock) and that was a long time ago. I don't work in that field so i can't verify that. big law salaries are more or less public information. there was a bloomberg article yesterday about quant traders making $400K in first year out of school in sydney australia... a small % of people work hard/are smart enough AND have all the life advantages to get those jobs. But this is a big country and those folks cluster and concentrate in certain areas, including parts of the DMV so even if it's a small % of people nationally/globally, it can feel like EVERYONE makers that, when statistically that's obviously not true. |

Real estate agent (31)- makes up to 1 mil a year
Mortgage loan officer (31) makes up to 400k VP in investment banking (30) makes up to 400k Tech sales exec (31) 250k Crisis comms manager (28) 300k Just in my social circle. |
As a journalist in my late 40s who makes about 60 percent of what your 28-year-old "crisis comms manager" pal does, I find this reply to be rather depressing. |
| Engineer at 160. Wife makes 90 doing part time consulting. And we make about 200 to 300 from investments in a typical year, but last year and this are not typical. |
