Crisis comms manager (28) 300k
Just in my social circle.

As a journalist in my late 40s who makes about 60 percent of what your 28-year-old "crisis comms manager" pal does, I find this reply to be rather depressing.

That crisis comms job at 28 is INSANE. Would love to know where she works.

Yeah that's a real outlier. I wonder if the job is defending something indefensible.

I’m a marketing middle manager within financial services. I am in my mid thirties and mommy tracked myself and make 150-160, not including employer 401k contributions. Dh works in financial services and makes about double my income.

Generally speaking anyone earning that in their 20s is going to be working at a very stressful job- family businesses being the exception.

I work in DFIR.

I work at a company and do my own consulting on the side. My salary where I work is $173k. I usually make an additional $60k-$100k doing my own consulting work on the side. It really depends on how many jobs/projects I want to take on outside of work.

Oh, I forgot to add. I'm 40 and I live in Loudoun County.

We are not in DC, but in NJ, another high COL state. My husband went to vo -tech for high school, didn't go to college, and makes $140,000, plus about $20,000 in perks and bonuses.

He started as a mechanic for a large landscaping company, and over the past 25 years worked his way up to operations manager.

He is a mechanical genius, but couldn't hack school at all. Hard work, lots of hours, and luck in finding a good company all helped him get where he is.
