Makes no sense. Perhaps they were planning extracurricular activities?

$3500 in Mexico vs $15-30K in the US.

What’s so hard to understand about that?

Yeah but maybe you don’t go to one of the worst parts of Mexico to do that?

Probably the three guys went thinking their presence would protect her but instead their presence triggered the drug gang.

The cartel turned over the hit men to the local police 😳

What about it does not make sense? People travel for medical procedures all the time.

NP. I thought the question was why did 4 people go when only 1 was having surgery, not why go to Mexico for a procedure. Either way, there were travel warnings about that area and I wish they hadn’t gone. It’s really sad that they were attacked, people were killed, and the survivors have to endure this trauma.

Apparently 5 people in total. More and more, the story doesn't make sense.

No dummy. The cartel turned over 5 men they claim are responsible for the kidnapping and murder.

Imagine a drug cartel will turn over members who did the public wrong, but cops close ranks to protect their own

Everything is okay now. The cartel delivered a note of apology.

5 went. A woman that was with them was stopped at the border and couldn't cross into Mexico with the other 4.

There is now a report about 3 women missing after crossing into Mexico late last month.

I would absolutely boycott Mexico. Especially since their president refuses to admit that the Mexican cartels are flooding our country with fentanyl. It's almost as if he wants the cartels to continue operating....

Maybe they are the hit men. Maybe they aren’t.

A colleague just visited Mexico City.

Daughter has a wedding to go to right on the border. These border towns are now as dangerous.

Ive been living in Mexico for work for the past few years. There are tens (hundreds?) of thousands of American citizen expats or dual citizens who live here without a problem. It's completely fine as long as you stick to certain areas, which sorry to say these people ignored.
