Senator Fetterman has been hospitalized for depression

I hope he recovers well.

Walter Reed provides excellent socialized medical care and may we all receive such care, too.

He chose his ego over the people. He should not have run. Period.

Put him in the same category as RBG. Selfish.

They are down 2. The other Senator from PA is out - he just had prostate cancer surgery.

You can bet Schumer will schedule no votes while they are gone.

It’s revealing that six pages in and no one here has noted that this depression, as well as his stroke, have a fairly likely (but not certain, obvs) cause in COVID. What’s happened to Fetterman is likely to happen to many more people in the future.

Props to the Biden Administration for doing an even better job than Trump at minimizing a serious issue! Mission accomplished!

Fetterman likely to be hospitalized for weeks. No votes for weeks?
I'm guessing that Casey won't be out that long.

He was exploited by people who pushed him to continue running despite severe health issues.

Even voters that chose a rep based on total and complete fabrications, aggressive scams and bald faced lies will have that person until the next election.

Fetterman is very high quality compared to some of the real lowlifes sitting in Congress. You are lucky to have him.

They chose Fetterman in large part because a medical “expert” examined him and said “He has no work restrictions and can work full duty in public office.” Of course, it was later revealed that the doctor was a major Democrat campaign donor. The media showed no interest in asking many questions and pushed a narrative that was plainly wrong, as they have for the past many years. The truth is that Fetterman didn’t seem to have the interest or demeanor to be a legislator before the stroke. The poor man needs rest.

You are completely discounting his roll in standing up to the republican onslaught against women, and gun control, and working people and immigrants and healthcare and other issues. Oz? Forced birther carpet bagger. If fetterman does not anything more than just stand up for women's rights, his election is more than justified.

You can at least be honest, the only way he's standing up for women is by being a Democrat Senator and assuring a Democratic majority, he contributes nothing else. For now he's medically incapable, but it remains to be seen his contributions otherwise. His seat is no less an excersie in votes than George Santos.

He would eat George Santos for breakfast stroke or no stroke. That guy is utterly pathetic.

Standards should be higher than "better than Santos."

Fettermam was visciously exploited by the people around him. Would you push your spouse to campaign in that state? No. You'd be focused on their health.

Even before he became ill, it seems like it was a "couple" running for the Senate.

Those are the standards of the GOP. Santos is sitting in Congress collecting a paycheck. Until that changes, no one wants to hear any nonsense about fit to serve

Republicans get to keep Santos in office, but democrats aren’t even supposed to keep someone who is objectively better than Santos because that’s too low a standard. I get that truth have no meaning anymore, facts are just opinions yelled really loudly, and hyperbole is normal everyday stuff now, but damn, saying better than santos isn’t good enough while santos still has his seat takes it to a new level. I should probably book a session in a rage room then get a massage before the next crazy yet unsurprising thing happens.

It’s not just republicans. The world is crackers. A decade ago, if future me asked 2013 me which was more likely to be true, A) president trump B) global pandemic + antivaxxers + horse dewormer cure, C) mass shootings are increasing to more than one per day and people are surviving multiple mass shootings, or D) bird flu kills hundreds of sea lions and messes up the guano industry in Peru, I’d be like, sorry DH, you’re on indefinite kid duty because I’m apparently going to lose my mind in the next 10 years, gonna go check myself into the psych ward now and see if I can prevent those delusions from taking root, because none of that can be true. Yet here we are.

Tl;dr Fetterman should retire but we have bigger issues.

How do you know who in that marriage wanted him to continue his campaign?
