I feel like there should be a movie about this. Dude goes through a horrible experience and returns with entirely reasonable views like, Hamas sucks and there is a problem with border control.

I've been following him for years. He always was reasonable. He's a straight shooter with his own viewpoints, has never been a rubber-stamper or someone to fit in a prescriptive box, and has never been beholden to many of the outside big special interests that most other politicians are.

Most Democrats are in fact nowhere near as radical and leftist as far-right media makes them out to be, and are far more moderate and reasonable than far right media likes to admit. It's all an outrage and manipulation machine.

The polls show that Americans overwhelmingly support Israel and want Hamas to burn. Politicians who wink at Hamas will lose support, and this entire episode has been a really bad look for progressives.
