I dunno if electric stoves are woke or not, but they definitely suck.
No professional chef, nor anyone serious about cooking, would willingly use an electric stove. Not unless they were forced to by law. And that coercion is the problem. |

It's hard to deny DeSantis won a massive landslide in Florida, a traditional swing state that voted for Obama, and he won every education demographics too. Including the ones that normally go for the Democrats.
I do find him abrasive and combative BUT many of you are forgetting that the Democrats are abrasive and combative too. Wokery and DEI is extremely divisive. How can it not be? Accusations that America is institutionally and systematically racist, only whites can be racist, that the Memphis police were still racist, are all hugely controversial and offensive to many people. It's just that in the more liberal parts of the country those who disagree find themselves under a great deal of pressure, cultural or political, to censor themselves. DeSantis is a useful outlet to watch to get a sense of what other places are thinking and their views. The conservatives like him because he is, in their view, doing the exact same thing that the progressive Democrats do, using policy and the courts to ram through controversial stances. Tit for tat. And, here's the kicker, the DeSantis supporters do have a point. As it stands, he has an excellent chance of winning. He is also the only major "name", both Democrat or Republican, who has a net positive opinion ratings in the polls. It should make for an interesting election. |
Well stated. Especially your third paragraph. |
Hey - if Kathy Hochul can ban gas stoves in NY, DeSantis can certainly have them sold tax free in FL. I would say Hochul is the deranged one. |
I’m sure the rich people in Florida will appreciate that tax break. Since we don’t need gas for heat, only the rich have gas hookups for their stoves. The rest of us have electric appliances. |
About 40% of homes use gas stoves for cooking. (They aren't all rich) Ironically, the state with the most gas stoves is California.... about 70%. Then, there are the thousands of businesses that use gas stoves for cooking. |
Gas is a finite and limited resource. Electricity on the other hand can be generated in any number of ways. |
If you need fast heat to prepare many dishes quickly like a chef does, or if you need wok hei or gas char grill sure. But for 99% of ordinary people cooking at home it isn't going to make a damn bit of difference if they use gas or electric. And a huge number of homes aren't even (and in many cases can't be) properly ventilated for a gas stove, let alone have the hookup for gas. It wouldn't be worth the tax savings to switch from electric to gas if you have to have a gas line installed. DeSantis's move is just plain dumb. What next, give people tax breaks for going to coal heat? |
...such as nuclear energy, which Florida enjoys and crazies like you in NY and CA have been shutting down |
+1 I can't even believe this has to be explained. Many blacks are sick of it too. |
But not nearly as awful as listening to Biden speak. |
No, they live in a LW bubble. Like you, for instance. The PP is correct. DP |
No, it's actually not. Nice try though. |
DP. I think you're in for a very rude awakening. |
Agreed. He has common sense and does not let the left intimidate him with their nonsense. And I actually do find him to be telegenic - not that it matters, but Democrats seem fixated on appearance, so... |
