I don't know, but I would bet they had a lot more than MadLax (10-12) and a lot less then Next Level (90).

I don't know, but I would bet they had a lot more than MadLax (10-12) and a lot less then Next Level (90).

DCE looked like maybe 50.

10-12 at Madlax--I wasn't there but there's no way that's true.

agree. some of their returning players are supposedly going to DCE, plus anyone who lives in Virginia will be checking out VLC now that Dico has been named the 2028 coach. and certainly nobody on the other local teams (NL, DCE) would go near MadLax, so ML will be counting on out of state players to fill the holes, as with their 2026 and 2027 teams. but the players from Texas, Kentucky, Richmond, etc. are not likely to attend a local tryout. so 10-12 could be about right. anybody actually there who can say if the number was different?

Again, wasn't there so can't be sure, but I imagine if just your incumbent players show up you'll have at least 20, plus DMV kids, plus new kids coming out. I get that there's bad buzz and I'm no big fan of the program but I have to assume kids are still willing to try out.

Anyway, just need a Madlax parent to confirm, I guess. Such a crazy time of year, will be so glad when it's over.

A good amount of 2028 VLC players do not like the way the upper management treated them before HOCO. So the 2028 VLC team will look much different this year.

Also remember True NOVA is putting a hard sell on getting kids to join that program.

Parents in Maryland, I think Chesapeake, last year had local kids practicing every week and then being displaced with fly-ins for HOCO...

So beware and ask a lot of questions before signing.

I'm hearing that DCE is picking up a bunch of MadLax players, and MadLax is picking up True Chesapeake players, and True Chesapeake is folding its tent.

can anyone confirm or add further detail?

That is what everyone is saying on the Backofthecage forums. Someone also posted the letter that the True Chesapeake coach emailed to the parents/ families.
