| Losing its local players and praying that out of town families don’t read boards like this? |
| Rumors of Madlax demise are greatly exaggerated. Lost 5 solid players to DCE and 1 to NL. Brought in several talented kids from outside Beltway. They will be fine. |
| How do these new kids from outside the beltway compare to the kids that they lost? |
You will notice most kids they pull from outside the beltway will be bigger and/or older. |
| I heard they lost 8 kids to DCE, not 5 |
But, are they actually better? |
| Madlax updated roster is freely available on the web. They also have the calendar with Maryland Invitational, Hogan Brawl, and NAL this fall. Neither Next level nor DCE have updated theirs. |
Have to give Madlax credit for keeping their website updated. |

I would imagine most of the 2028 club rosters will be full of the new top end lacrosse players who have only been playing rec and focusing on other sports. This board is full of people explaining that the best players don't need club until 7th/8th grade.
I can't wait to see the new set of thoroughbreds that show up for ML, NL, DCE and VLC. |
| VLC will not field a 28 team this year (just like they didn’t field a 27 team last year). |
| Madlax can't score goals, and did nothing at all to improve that. Plus, they lost 3 of their top 4 poles. I would really like to know where their talent is going to be coming from, like specific teams. |

Can someone please explain to me why Madlax is getting such negative reviews on this board? When I look at the US Club Lacrosse rankings (tried to add link below) Madlax Capital is ranked #28 nationally (Madlax Monuments is ranked #30) and Madlax Capital and Monuments appear to be the best ranked from Virgina where they are ranked #28, #30, respectively, and the next highest Virginia team, Richmond Hawks, is ranked #130?
Why are DCE, TC, True, etc, etc, etc, not highly ranked? I’m truly curious after reading the thread. I have no dog in the fight. No connection to any of the aforementioned travel teams. I’m just confused why the down talk about Madlax when they seem to be a great program for 2028s who want to get national exposure. https://www.usclublax.com/rank?state_abbv=-99&v=1028&alpha=N&y=2022&seed=4n2944 |

Madlax is dislike by a vocal group of lacrosse people in the DMV because of the behavior of the founder/owner. He is a a known quantity in lacrosse circles, and elicits quite a bit of anger from parents and players. Just google deadspin lacrosse coach for further backstory.
The 24 and 28 teams are coached by this individual, which always drums up the drama. His behavior at two events this summer seems to be the most recent reason for the negative reviews. To his credit, he has built a nationally respected club lacrosse program, with a track record for placing kids into great college lacrosse programs. In recent years, NL has become the soft landing spot for those players looking to exit the owners orbit. This year that exodus from ML to NL spread beyond the 24&28 teams, hitting the 26 team hard. |
