Little Falls Parkway speed bumps

Little Falls Parkway is going to be redeveloped. Kiss it goodbye folks. they are testing to see how the traffic is but it is a done deal.

Funny how drivers act like no turn signs are optional when they are the slightest inconvenience but act like if one single cyclist rolls through a stop sign that should invalidate their entire infrastructure.

I'm sick of seeing entitled drivers blow through no left turn signs! We shouldn't add a single lane or fix a single pothole until every single one of them obeys every single law!

I'll follow it once Westbard is open. Until then, no chance. I am not wasting my time driving all the way down to Goldsboro or up to Western. It's idiotic.

Only other alternative is to cut through Kenwood.

It is crazy that the same government agency that forced the approval of Westbard development in a location without transit access and the same agency that just a couple weeks ago advocated further up-zoning of River Rd also wants to isolate this very same high-density development from reasonable and efficient access to transit. This people are malign idiots.

We have some of the most expensive property in the area, creating a huge revenue for the county. This is the best they can do? Create choke points to benefit whom? Commuters who don’t live in 20816?

It’s mind blowing how these decisions are being made with no input from those who fund them

The stretch of Little Falls Parkway from Massachusetts to River Road is just about exactly half a mile. It is one lane in each direction. There are no entry points. There are traffic lights at both ends, and there is always a wait at both lights. Regardless of how fast or how slow you drive, you will arrive at the traffic light behind the car you were behind when you got on and ahead of the car you were ahead of when you got on. Arriving at the intersection sooner just means you have to wait longer when you get there.

Having a higher speed limit would do absolutely nothing to move more cars through.

conversely, what is the point of making people go over three speed bumps? because it's really critical they go 10 mph for the middle 200 yards instead of 30 mph?

Let me rephrase that for you. Due to pedestrians far out-numbering cyclists it’s impossible for cyclists to go fast on weekends. I think that’s more accurate and the real complaint. Cyclists don’t believe that they need to slow down to share a multi-use trail, when they are even the minority of trail users.

I hope Kenwood wins. I don’t live there but need to drive there most weekdays and get stuck in traffic now like never before. I’m a liberal democrat and the county’s approach to roads is infuriating. Between this, Old Georgetown, and now Tuckerman, they are brazenly attempting to reshape the county roads without an actual plan of how this affects people day to day. Quite frustrating.
