Why have there been cops there over the last couple days? Are they really trying to enforce the no left term from Mass onto LFP during rush hour? I would laugh at them. With Westbard's closing it's one of the few options to cut through into Bethesda. Mind blowingly stupid.
*turn
Funny how drivers act like no turn signs are optional when they are the slightest inconvenience but act like if one single cyclist rolls through a stop sign that should invalidate their entire infrastructure. I'm sick of seeing entitled drivers blow through no left turn signs! We shouldn't add a single lane or fix a single pothole until every single one of them obeys every single law!
I'll follow it once Westbard is open. Until then, no chance. I am not wasting my time driving all the way down to Goldsboro or up to Western. It's idiotic.
Only other alternative is to cut through Kenwood. It is crazy that the same government agency that forced the approval of Westbard development in a location without transit access and the same agency that just a couple weeks ago advocated further up-zoning of River Rd also wants to isolate this very same high-density development from reasonable and efficient access to transit. This people are malign idiots.
We have some of the most expensive property in the area, creating a huge revenue for the county. This is the best they can do? Create choke points to benefit whom? Commuters who don’t live in 20816? It’s mind blowing how these decisions are being made with no input from those who fund them
Imagine actually making a post like this and seeing nothing wrong with it. "How dare the county allow people to use public roads in my neighborhood. Don't they know they're for rich people only?" People like you are the reason DCUM is the foulest cesspit of the DC internet.
I mean … why should we not have a say in what happens in our neighborhoods? I’m not commenting on what the county does in Olney? LFP is the only artery at this point with Westbard closed. Goldsboro is an option but it’s very much out of the way. I’ll happily cut through Springfield but the idiotic county doesn’t want us to do that either. Glad they are adding bike lanes adjacent to the CCT. Seems like a great use of taxpayer money.
That stretch of the CCT desperately needs more capacity. It's almost impassible on weekends.
Lol the roads need more capacity. There is more demand for cars in Bethesda than bikes…
