Actress Anne Heche severely burned in fiery car crash

It is true that it was only sheer luck that we didn’t see another loss of life like that with the accident on La Brea where an entire young family was obliterated. Driving at that level of impairment is no less a crime than shooting a gun into a crowded room — you might get lucky and not kill anyone, but chances are some innocent person or persons are going to die.

I have compassion for people with substance abuse issues, but as someone who lost multiple family members to a drunk driver, there is zero excuse for driving impaired. The driver may get a few years of jail time (maybe!), but it is a death sentence for the innocent people they kill. Their families live every day with the emotional scars of losing their parents and children. I don’t apologize for having no sympathy for someone who did this and has to live with a few physical scars.

Completely agree. I have zero compassion for those who make the poor decision to get behind a wheel while they are drunk or impaired. I was sickened by the car accident discussed earlier involving the woman driving approximately 100 mph into traffic. A poor baby was ejected from the vehicle and the pregnant woman killed was 8 months along. The horror and devastation she inflicted by her stupidity will last a lifetime for the victim's families.

+1 Same for the poor woman and her beautiful golden retriever who burned up in Las Vegas when a car going 122 mph slammed into them.

Speaking of weapons, why do we let companies sell cars that go 122 mph?

Anne Heche looks just like what a 50 something year old man with a boob job should look like. He was always a man, just like Ellen. They were gay men together, not gay women. That is why he looks so ghoulish, you can see the facial feminization surgery effects, but you can't get the Y out of your XY...
.

Yea...no.

Thank you for posting this. I was really concerned how she was doing. I found her on instagram and tiktok through the gofundme - creativeorganization What a sweet lady and a great business she has! It's so sad to know how much she lost, but it's good that she and her pets are safe!! I hope Anne doesn't need to be sued, but just gives a whopping amount of money to this woman!!!!!

What???? I'm really angry that she chose to drive under the influence and caused this damage, but come on, Anne is a woman! I watched her since 1984 on Another World.

She was drunk & irresponsible.
So glad no one else was hurt.

Thanks for the link.

Drunk drivers should go to jail for attempted murder, or murder if they kill someone. I don't know why sentences are so short for drunk drivers. They're deadly.

"attempted murder" shows intent. That said, she'll go down for vehicular manslaughter at a minimum. i hope. Same with the woman who killed those 6 innocent people.

I am glad the woman whose home was destroyed is getting some attention and funding. Horrendous. She is so lucky to be alive.

I have very little sympathy for Heche. She chose to drive impaired. I wish the Hollywood celebrities who are expressing sympathy would also express some sympathy for the poor woman whose home was demolished.

My friend’s 27 yo daughter recently got charged with a DUI. My friend is calling it a silly mistake and driving her daughter around like a freaking car service.

Daughter actually got an earlier DUI charge a few years ago but it was dismissed when the officer didn’t show up to the hearing.

I love my friend but I hope her daughter gets her ass handed to her in court this time.

The woman (nurse) in La Brea - did she have a medical emergency or something? Was she drunk? That accident has to be more than just distracted driving, right?

The woman in LA (actually is from Houston, was a nurse who was visiting) is going to be charged today. Was she suffering a medical emergency? My guess is NO, as they showed her sitting on the curb surrounded by witnesses. She was sitting upright. My guess is she was intoxicated but that is just my guess.
