Wake is slightly less, but NYU is much harder. |
A few good responses so far on this chain. And SO MANY bad ones. To put all the good responses in one place: In-state: JMU & Virginia Tech Out of state: Clemson, UTK, Bama, Auburn, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Arizona Out of state but not "warmer": Indiana, Kansas, Iowa, Iowa State, Miami of Ohio Really cold and kinda urban (and not an easy admit) but super outgoing and spirited: Wisconsin |

| Tennessee had been suggested to my senior but we didn't pursue, not sure it fits your criteria but its probably easier to get in than UNC's main campus. |
TCU |

Why is that? |
That would assume the applicant pools are of equal quality. |
US News lists both as lower than UVA so safe to assume their less selective since that's what the rankings measure. |
For list price, it is the other way around. UVA is somewhat less expensive in state and more expensive OOS. |
"Selectivity" is a factor, but far from only criteria. Just look at USNWR ranking factors. |
Having lived near both schools, they don't seem that similar at all. UC Santa Barbara will not be an easy admit, either. |
No, acceptance rate is not even a factor anymore for USN&WR ranking. There's not much difference in the ranking in the first place. NYU is definitely more selective. There are relatively more selective schools like BU BC Northeastern Tulane, but relatively ranked low. These are all more selective than the T30 Wake Forrest. |
They’re also judging differently. If you’re not in the top 6% of your class in VA or didn’t take 4 years of the same language, forget UVA. U of F is looking at the application on its own, not with a strict cutoff of class rank. |
First of all, they're very different. Second, for an in state girl, W&M admissions are not easier. Next? |
