The canned Sloppy Joe mix to make sloppy joes

When I was a kid I was obsessed with Three Cheese Hamburger Helper but a couple summers ago I tried it for nostalgia and it was disgusting? They definitely changed it.

I feel the same way about scalloped potatoes in a box. They used to be so good, but last time I tried them they were so gloppy.

huh, this thread was making me think about how much I loved the scalloped potatoes/potatoes au gratin instant mixes when i was a kid and hadn't tried since.

Frozen broccoli in cheese sauce dumped over a baked potato with fakin' bacon bits.

Pasta Roni garlic and olive oil vermicelli and if I'm feeling extra fancy I'll sprinkle the top with with grated parmesan cheese. Sooooo good. It goes great with chicken too.

Why wouldn’t you eat what you like in moderation?

Yes. Parmesan is our favorite.

Parmesan is great but have you tried the garlic and olive oil vermicelli one?

Kraft Mac n Cheese. RIP bright orange noodles, though.

I love StoveTop stuffing. I eat it dry straight out if the can.

I do make Kraft Mac and cheese for my kids. It looks and smells repulsive.

I guess this is part of why my grocery bills are insane.

No, your grocery bills are insane because you don’t know how to shop. Most of the stuff listed is inherently cheap to make. If you’ve got insane grocery bills, it’s your fault.

Yes, it was rude. I would wager my grocery bills are as high as yours, between Wegmans and Whole Foods and the fact that I love to cook, but I know what this thread is, and I don’t try to bring it down by saying how great I am. My contribution: I love the Wegman’s frozen vegetable egg rolls, and I also am tempted to try Rice-a-Roni, which I used to eat in college, and my kids would probably love it. If this thread isn’t for you, it’s not for you. People like you ruin fun threads in the Food forum. You really do.

Rao’s is repulsive; the closest I get to jarred sauce is the Marcella Hazan easy marinara recipe. See? I’m better than you, and you’re better than everyone else on this thread, so that makes me the best.

Hi. I’m LaChoy PP and correct, most all processed foods are inexpensive. My mom was a 60s era housewife who loved making casseroles with Campbells soup and canned vegetables.

Let me add Chef Boyardee Pizza Kit circa late 1970s - the boxed kit included a mini can of sauce and tiny canister of Parmesan cheese. Brings back happy memories of my 8th birthday slumber party with pizza maki as our big activity/dinner.

This is a guilty pleasure thread. Stay focused. Ignore the ridiculous PP who doesn't get it.

P.S. I make my own spaghetti sauce. Rao's comes in a JAR.

Then don’t believe it. Beliefs are optional.
