Admit to a processed entree or side dish (not snack) you adore

For me, it’s Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco treat. There is something so comforting about that “rice and vermicelli blend” that is so satisfying as a side dish. I haven’t had it since before I was married, but I’m tempted.

No, no, no. The point of boxed food is that it is boxed food.

There were these Uncle Ben’s boxed soups—one was broccoli cheddar with rice, one was black bean and rice. I miss those!

Are these refrigerated or frozen? Because I’m going to look for them.

Stouffer’s Lasagna with Meat and Sauce (not the “Italian”)

Ever so often, I buy a Party Size one and it lasts for about two meals. Add a green salad and garlic bread—-perfect!

I'm the PP who posted this, also the spaghettios and hot dogs poster. Neither of which is boxed but that's irrelevant.

I don't have an issue with boxed or processed food, but if it's something I'd like to serve regularly then I'm going to at least test and see if there's a healthy sub. We've actually had fun making homemade spaghettios, but not hot dogs.

So, I might make the boxed one to remind me what it tastes like and also see if I still liked it, and then try making it to see if it is as good.

Do you mean like the Giant breaded mozzarella sticks you stick in the oven for 9 minutes on a Saturday afternoon and then eat all gooey and warm and then are so sick you can't face the idea of cooking dinner for your teenage kids so you give them the card and free rein on Doordash?

I would never make it now but we used to make those Chef Boyardee pizza kits when I was a kid. It was a big deal.

Why wouldn’t you eat what you like in moderation?

Yes. Parmesan is our favorite.

Ah ha ha same for me growing up, and true confession I have a kit in my pantry right now. But they no longer include the envelope of grated cheese and I miss that!!
