Admit to a processed entree or side dish (not snack) you adore

We’re not talking Oreos or Doritos. We’re talking a processed, middle-aisle or freezer entree or side dish (or “helper” to make an entree or side dish) that you love. You don’t even have to currently eat it—I’ll accept nostalgia items your parents used to make.

For me, it’s Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco treat. There is something so comforting about that “rice and vermicelli blend” that is so satisfying as a side dish. I haven’t had it since before I was married, but I’m tempted.

Also a rice dish - quick, easy, not too big a serving for a family, no chicken flavoring (veg), and completes a fajita/taco type meal.

Pretty much all instant ramen (but not cup noodle for some reason, those noodles are weird)
Kraft mac and cheese
Stouffers Mac and cheese
Cheap el monterey frozen burritos
Taquitos

I like rice-a-roni too and eat it pretty regularly

Kraft spirals they have to be the spirals as they are much more cheesier than the regular kraft.

Spaghettios, with a ton of shredded cheese added, and broiled hot dog sliced lengthwise and cooked till it's black and curly and kind of charred.

Kraft Deluxe in the blue box. I put a ton of freshly cracked ground pepper.

I wouldn’t mind seeing if I still like Hamburger Helper. I bet I do.

La Choy Chow Mein (in two cans…now I can’t remember what was separated and in the top can…anyone?), served over Boil in Bag white rice and liberally drenched with soy sauce.

We eat Pasta-Roni at least once a week. HHI of $225k but I grew up with more money.

Why wouldn’t you eat what you like in moderation?

I am a sucker for French bread, which isn’t possible to make without a process. The king of processed foods. Also, cheese, I am a huge fan of cheese, also a processed food. Bread and cheese together is da bomb.

Lean Cuisine pizzas. The nostalgia is from my 20s. I ate sooooo many of those with “tamed” jalapeños on top.
